Backroom DE. Posted January 28, 2020 Backroom Posted January 28, 2020 Great first half save for poor defending for their goal. Rothwell going off had a big impact on us in the second half, we lost all the attacking fluidity we had in the first half and it was a much more typical Rovers performance. Nonetheless we ground out the win which is something we have failed to do multiple times in the past, so well done to the team for grinding it out. Onto the next run of good form by the looks of things. Quote
philipl Posted January 28, 2020 Posted January 28, 2020 Ended 57-43 in favour of QPR possession. Means they must have had close on 70% possession second half. 1 Quote

Exiled in Toronto Posted January 28, 2020 Posted January 28, 2020 Blimey that half was dire. I thought Bennett coming on was the right move, no-one got past Bell again. Nyambe however, for all the love on here, was absolutely awful defensively second half, completely at sea. Too many no-shows today, inconsistent players. Quote

Backroom Tom Posted January 28, 2020 Backroom Posted January 28, 2020 Superb result; first half all about craft followed by graft in the second 1 Quote

Backroom DE. Posted January 28, 2020 Backroom Posted January 28, 2020 Gallagher had an absolute shocker tonight I'm afraid. When will this experiment with him out wide end? With that said even at the end when he had a great chance with a header right in the middle of the penalty box he put it wide. Graham would have had that one for breakfast. 1 Quote
G Somerset Rover Posted January 28, 2020 Posted January 28, 2020 (edited) Left back and right winger needed this week. STOP playing Gallagher wide FFS. Edited January 28, 2020 by Gavlar Somerset Rover! 1 Quote

neophox Posted January 28, 2020 Posted January 28, 2020 Surely a winger will jet in to the team by Friday. Quote
Guest Posted January 28, 2020 Posted January 28, 2020 Travis is our Ben Pearson. What a player we have there. Quote

AllRoverAsia Posted January 28, 2020 Posted January 28, 2020 The injury to Rothwell cost us our momentum. We looked very sluggish 2nd half. Holtby could hardly run at all. Gallagher is very poor and needs a damn haircut, he is only in the team because at least one of the flop strikers have to be as a nod to their cost. 2nd half we lumped too much up to Armstrong which is as effective as a Chocolate Teapot. Not a criticism at all for Arma, he's just a small lad and will never win those high balls. Very good 1st half though and a great end result ... which is what its all about, Quote

Ossydave Posted January 28, 2020 Posted January 28, 2020 (edited) Classic game of 2 halves influenced by Rothwells early departure. Sharpe pointing out 9 of the 11 finishing the game were under 25 so fair play seeing a tricky game out, when you consider we used to crumble in such games under the experience of Mr Mulgrew, amongst others. Some really tricky games coming up, absolutely everything pointing to a draw on Saturday against Boro first up. Edited January 28, 2020 by Ossydave Quote
Fraserkirky Posted January 28, 2020 Posted January 28, 2020 (edited) I thought we were outstanding in the first half, maybe best we have played all season, apart from Lenihan getting schooled for the goal. Tosin was my man of the match, strolled it. Bennett was simply abysmal, we played like we had ten men. Contributed nothing and didn’t get close any QPR player. Poor Nyambe obviously struggling, then you get that for cover. Never a Championship level player. He should of brought JRC on for Rothwell. Brilliant three points, Armstrong with a beauty. Need a right winger and a left back before Friday. Edited January 28, 2020 by Fraserkirky 1 Quote
Mashed Potatoes Posted January 28, 2020 Posted January 28, 2020 Improved game management has been a significant factor in our progress this season and showed through once again - that sort of game might well have been a draw last season. 3 Quote
Backroom DE. Posted January 28, 2020 Backroom Posted January 28, 2020 Rothwell going off at HT was definitely a turning point. He was sensational in the first half. Hope it was precautionary and his injury isn't too serious. Would be a shame for him to have a spell on the sidelines after finally getting going tonight. 1 Quote
