We have lost that now playing CB..Benno at RB oh no..Another afternoon watching paint dry.. I don’t know I think it could be very entertaining for all the wrong reasons (gulp) Quote
Wing Wizard Windy Miller Posted February 29, 2020 Posted February 29, 2020 That bench is crazy. Not a defender in sight. One injury to the cb pair and we've had it. Who goes cb? Something going on with Mulgrew. No reason at all why he cant be on the bench. Quote
Ossydave Posted February 29, 2020 Posted February 29, 2020 That's how Sharpe calls it which is probably my preferred lineup given who's playing. Quote
Exiled in Toronto Posted February 29, 2020 Posted February 29, 2020 He was never going go to drop Gallagher after that article. Plus it’s taken a team-full of injuries and suspensions for Bennett to get a start, I for one did not fancy Mulgrew again, not least because he makes Bell even worse. 3-0 1 Quote
darrenrover Posted February 29, 2020 Posted February 29, 2020 You can only assume that's 4-3-3? We'll get over run in midfield, I fear for us today. Hopefully not, COYB!! 1 Quote
OldEwoodBlue Posted February 29, 2020 Posted February 29, 2020 Gally centre half. Arma and Benno on the wings. Dom Sam up top. 3 Quote

I would imagine Johnson would have to step in. Quote
Sparks Rover Posted February 29, 2020 Posted February 29, 2020 Bennett and Bell in the back 4 is wrong. Nyambe doesn't like to head the ball which is a problem. Against an attacking team we might come unstuck here...hope not. Quote
Oldgregg86 Posted February 29, 2020 Posted February 29, 2020 (edited) Let’s hope rothwell and Samuel have there crossing boots on and maybe just maybe play to sams strengths with Armstrong profiting from his work rate and aerial ability and hold up play. It’s probably the best we can hope for with the 11 named. I just can’t see Tony playing a 4-4-2 Edited February 29, 2020 by Oldgregg86 Quote
Blue blood Posted February 29, 2020 Posted February 29, 2020 Bit unfair to Samuel to shunt him out wide. Still think he will do better than Gally did there. No surprise Johnson dropped he was gassed midweek. Bit harsh no place for Buckley. Not sure why on that one. And as for the defence... Quote
joey_big_nose Posted February 29, 2020 Posted February 29, 2020 I think it's 433 similar to how we ended against Hull. Quote
Ossydave Posted February 29, 2020 Posted February 29, 2020 We could switch Samuel and Rothwell about, swapping wings etc. So difficult to play against for defenders. Let's see how we get on. Quote
The Gull Posted February 29, 2020 Posted February 29, 2020 Moving Nyambe to centre half helps that area but with Bennett coming in it’s totally weakened the right hand side. what’s wrong with one of the under 23’s centre halves or something? Quote

I'd argue not many. The apathy on here at times is literally unbelievable. The apathy is due to the 10 years of Rao ownership. We're back to where we were under Bowen - although Bowen didn't spunk £12m on two crap strikers. If anything we're at the point of the season where we should give the young players a run out - we're not making the playoffs. Let's see if any of the vaunted Academy prospects are any good. They surely can't be MUCH worse than some of the dross in our current starting 11. Quote
benhben Posted February 29, 2020 Posted February 29, 2020 Crap line up. Expecting us to struggle today. Half a side playing out of position. Hoping to be proved wrong. 2 Quote

You're often less depressed at his production that way. Quote

Rovers to score 4, Swansea to score when they want! 1 Quote
Mr. E Posted February 29, 2020 Posted February 29, 2020 What has Rothwell done to deserve to be starting instead of Buckley? I truly don't get it. Also Bennett at RB essentially means we are playing with 10 men. Swansea will have to fail spectacularly not to take this game. 1 Quote
JacknOry Posted February 29, 2020 Posted February 29, 2020 Good job defenders were coming and we seriously addressed that area in the last two windows....oh wait. Quote
philipl Posted February 29, 2020 Author Posted February 29, 2020 Don't think this will be a draw. Toss of a coin whether we smash them or they smash us. 1 Quote

TM often goes with common sense when the pressure and spotlight is on. (And reverts back to type when it isn't.) Edited February 29, 2020 by Blue blood Quote
Backroom DE. Posted February 29, 2020 Backroom Posted February 29, 2020 I think that lineup is capable of beating Swansea, but I don't like it very much. Clearly something very wrong with the Mulgrew situation. Either a serious rift between him and the manager or a contractual obstacle like Salgado, but either way what a horrendous waste of a wage.
