Backroom Tom Posted March 17, 2020 Backroom Posted March 17, 2020 The story says he’s died, really hope it’s not true Quote
G Somerset Rover Posted March 17, 2020 Posted March 17, 2020 (edited) Few ex players commenting on it now - looks like it may unfortunately be true. Likes of Chopra who played with him have posted messages as such. Jesus what a terrible few days just made worse. Edited March 17, 2020 by Gavlar Somerset Rover! Quote

tomphil Posted March 17, 2020 Posted March 17, 2020 Bad do if true, very poor here but seems he's got legendary status at Cardiff. Awful rumours. Quote
JacknOry Posted March 17, 2020 Posted March 17, 2020 (edited) Try googling now, i dont want to type the search term I used as it just seems wrong. There is some stuff popping up now. davulsukur Posted March 17, 2020 Posted March 17, 2020 Looking on twitter some people are claiming its correct and others saying it's fake news. Michael Chopra's tweet (he has no confirmation as far as I can see) Quote
Backroom Tom Posted March 17, 2020 Backroom Posted March 17, 2020 I fear the longer it goes without a denial the more likely it is to be true Quote

Tyrone Shoelaces Posted March 18, 2020 Posted March 18, 2020 Wasn't Mark Twain killed off in the same way - " The reports of my death are greatly exaggerated " or words to that effect. Good news if it's true. 1 Quote

AspRover Posted March 19, 2020 Posted March 19, 2020 (edited) We certainly didn't see him at his best, but to be honest I think that was partially down to the fact that by the beginning of the season he wasn't going to dislodge Dack as the creative force or Smallwood in the defensive role so he didn't really fit into the system. The rest of our transfer activity that summer pretty much rendered him obsolete before we kicked a ball. A disappointment but I wouldn't put him in the same category as Murphy, a player who we were relying on and was just terrible. In the grand scheme of things I have no ill will towards Whittingham from his time here, quite a bit of admiration for his Cardiff career and hope he makes a good and speedy recovery. Edit - ten minutes after I posted the above we get confirmation of his passing. Tragic by any measure, no age to go at all. Edited March 19, 2020 by AspRover 1 Quote
