MarkBRFC Posted April 22, 2020 Posted April 22, 2020 Quite possible. 2 league wins out of 11 straight after Shearers injury tells you that we initially struggled to get to grips with things without him, with a couple of good cup runs masking the form a little. Quote

Herbie6590 Posted April 26, 2020 Author Posted April 26, 2020 The final table of the inaugural Premier League table...the first ever football season of course *cough*... Rovers had managed a top four finish without their best player for the best part of 5 months. What would 1993/4 bring ? How could Dalglish improve this side ? Quote
Mattyblue Posted April 26, 2020 Posted April 26, 2020 Only one of the modern ‘Big 6’ in contention. Liverpool limp to 6th, the others in mid table. Quote
iacok Posted April 26, 2020 Posted April 26, 2020 I'm surprised City were eighth. Look at Oldham, stayed up on GD. Wimbledon 12th. QPR top London side! My problem is that at my age this all seems like yesterday! Quote
Darrenbot Posted April 26, 2020 Posted April 26, 2020 The end of Brian Cloughs reign as Forest manager as they went down,i watched The Damned United this week,i'd love to have seen what he could have done as England manager when he was at his peak at the end of the 70s. Quote

BlackburnEnd75 Posted April 26, 2020 Posted April 26, 2020 On the spurs away video it says Newell scored his 22nd goal of the season but a quick look at the premier league stats says he got 13 league goals that year. Did he get a lot in the fa cup that year ? Hard to find a break down of players from that eras stats Quote

That away end when Newell grabs his second, wow! What were away days like in our success of the early 90s? My dads told me a few stories of great atmospheres and great away performances, makes me extremely jealous. I was born in 1996 so I can’t even claim to have been alive when we won the title. I love watching these games though, great thread ?? 1 Quote
