Did Shearer play pre season with Blackburn in 96

Just wondering if Alan played any pre season games with us before the 96/97 season or went straight to Newcastle after the Euros?

I'm always surprised this has never surfaced.

I do have a recollection of seeing him in the CIS, grandad collared shirt, but finding a copy is almost a Rovers holy grail!
