I wondered whether Leonard meant Neil Ruddock, who was pals with Shearer for sure.

Yes i believe he used to socialise with the Rovers lads a lot.

What a team that was still marvel at the organisation and sheer graft of them week in week out all this time later.

Rock solid foundations, square pegs in square holes and a platform for the flair and quality to play to its strengths.

My bad...Neil Ruddock! He was mates with Shearer and Flowers from Soton days...

You are correct Lenny. After the celebration game the evening after the title win I was invited into the Premier Suite where the party carried on. Ruddock was in there and as drunk as the rest. He was celebrating like he played for us.

I was reading an excerpt from Graeme Le Sauxs autobiography and he is quite critical of Mike Newell among others for during the 95/96 season.

it made me wonder what are people’s opinions of Mike Newell?

Thanks

What was Le Saux critical of?

Thanks. Wow, that's interesting. I wonder what they were doing exactly

Don't know, but one way to break the unity of your team is to start swinging punches at your team mate live on national tv.
