4,000 Holes Posted April 11, 2020 Posted April 11, 2020 ‘Easy’ – The Mick Heaton Story. On the 25th anniversary of his untimely passing, this is a great tribute by Rob Sawyer (who also wrote the Roy Vernon book ‘Blue Dragon’). https://www.toffeeweb.com/season/19-20/comment/history/39422.html Quote

Riversider28 Posted April 11, 2020 Posted April 11, 2020 An excellent read, recalling the career of one of the most charismatic and hard working players ever to pull on a blue and white shirt. 1 Quote
Tyrone Shoelaces Posted April 11, 2020 Posted April 11, 2020 Yes that's a really good article. He was what leadership on the field was all about. Nobody ever questioned Mick's attitude or commitment. Andy Burgin who was mentioned in the article was another very good full back. I'd swap Mick and Andy for the full backs we have at the moment. 1 Quote
Claytons Left Boot Posted April 13, 2020 Posted April 13, 2020 I had forgotten the circumstances surrounding the accident and his death. How ironic that, after all those years away from East Lancs, the accident happened only a few minutes up the road from Ewood. A great read and tribute to a fine player. And by all accounts, a thoroughly decent bloke. 1 Quote
Claytons Left Boot Posted April 13, 2020 Posted April 13, 2020 I finished the above post and went to look for something on Facebook. The first thing from my feed that was staring at me was a picture of the Grey Mare, where the above accident took place. Now that is spooky. Quote

Now that is web analytics - as well as a thousand other companies tracking you after you click “Accept Cookies”. (Something very Hansel and Gretel about that phrase...) Quote

(Something very Hansel and Gretel about that phrase...) Well, I did think about that Stuart but this was a Facebook site re old photos of Blackburn and the surrounding area. The admin of that site had just posted a photo of the Grey Mare. Not an advert and couldn’t possibly have been because I had been reading a tribute to Mick Heaton. Quote

Which site is that, btw? I’m on several of those but haven’t seen that pic. Quote

I replied to this Stuart but my post appears to have been removed. I thought the photo was on a Blackburn Facebook site but it was actually on Darwen Now and Then. 1 Quote
