Exiled in Toronto Posted June 20, 2020 Posted June 20, 2020 Haven’t seen shirts that muddy for twenty years. Interesting to hear Big Ron calling that we wouldn’t go up plus seeing Leicester employ an Old Etonians kick off charge toward goal. 1 Quote

oldjamfan1 Posted June 23, 2020 Posted June 23, 2020 It makes me quite emotional seeing some of these old games. Ewood was a right shithole then but my God I used to love going down there. 3 Quote

Darrenbot Posted June 23, 2020 Posted June 23, 2020 Watching these make me miss terraces even more, the surge forward after a goal is scored and the hugging with some complete stranger stood next to you is sadly missed ? 2 Quote

Bobby Charlton in the studio, Jimmy Hill hosting....here we go... First time I’ve heard the Blackburn end called the “town end” ? Quote
Mattyblue Posted June 24, 2020 Posted June 24, 2020 (edited) Amazing how quickly the game changed from the late 80s to around the millennium. Money, TV coverage, infrastructure, stadiums, corporate offerings, fan culture, foreign players. Only 10 years, but it might as well have been 50. Edited June 24, 2020 by Mattyblue 1 Quote

I must be losing it because I had it in mind that Speedie climbed up the fence at the Darwen end after his hat trick goal against Newcastle, but not in the clip. What a player Speedie was. Quote
philipl Posted June 24, 2020 Posted June 24, 2020 Reminder of how few Rovers games were on TV and what an occasion it was when we were televised. 1 Quote
