The point stands though, that John Williams wanted to win. Souness has stated in interviews that both he and Williams would push each other on to constantly improve and do better. Another important thing Souness has mentioned is that the Board during his time here wasn't in it for financial gains, fame or to do favours for others, they were all on the same page wanting the best for the football club.
