Tyrone Shoelaces Posted August 16, 2020 Posted August 16, 2020 Great stuff, I loved Speedie. He had more enthusiasm and fighting spirit than any of the current lot and only Dack could match him for skill. I would have hated to play against him. You would have had a tough 90 minutes. 1 Quote

simongarnerisgod Posted August 16, 2020 Posted August 16, 2020 i was at that game, fantastic day, giving shilton some serious stick in the 2nd half and as i can recall we were kept in for ages after the game, whilst the area was cleared of the plymouth menace, that loss sent them down and they were far from happy, did`nt get home until midnight, even with my maniac driving mate giving his sierra sapphire some serious pedal wear, one regret about the kenny era is he did`nt give speedie the chance to play in the premier league,he would have been electric with shearer, sure he could have offered soton a bit more cash instead of giving speedie as part of the deal 2 Quote

If you were picking a team on fighting spirit and will to win alone he'd be one of the first names on the list - along with Kevin Moran out of that team. 3 Quote

Herbie6590 Posted August 22, 2020 Author Posted August 22, 2020 Early signs of why Jason Wilcox would prove to be so invaluable & why Darren Collier never made it... Quote
Herbie6590 Posted August 22, 2020 Author Posted August 22, 2020 More impressive Wilcox action & a Starbuck to go... Quote

Tyrone Shoelaces Posted August 23, 2020 Posted August 23, 2020 Lenny Johnrose doing well for us there. The goal at Oldham was a brave effort. Quote
Herbie6590 Posted August 23, 2020 Author Posted August 23, 2020 Away to Bristol Rovers, another Johnrose goal, Nicky Reid the goalscoring machine and a terrible refereeing decision denies Bristol a penalty... Quote
