Back in the early 1970's I attended a local sportman's evening with a junior team. Pie and peas including guests Sir Roger Jones, Derek Fazackerley and Dick Mulvaney.

Not sure if the Dirty Duck was The Wheatsheaf Bazza. Think that was on Mincing Lane.

It doesn't say sadly, but we did play at Carlisle that season, so you could be right

Sir Keith ...... a Rolls Royce of a player.

And look at that kit. Nothing has ever beaten it.

Yellowy stone (?) houses in the background. Would have said Yarkshire but they're too clean😀

The Clayton brothers, Ken and Ronnie at Ewood. Found this photo on a Blackburn Facebook site. The photo has been restored and, whilst there is no floodlight in evidence over Ken’s right shoulder, it was in the original photo. This dates it to around 1959 or 1960.

The shirt Ronnie is wearing was the first one I ever had. Xmas present at Xmas 1962. I think I slept in it for a while !

We wouldn't have worn that kit at Carlisle though.

I’ve seen this photo before and for some reason Watford rings a bell.

Edit - first played them in Sept 69 so could be wrong

Proper " short " shorts as well Jim. How players play these days in the beach wear style shorts I'll never know. We used to laugh at the old photos of players like Stan Mathews wearing shorts down to their knees, I never dreamed players would be wearing them again ! At least the women players today have more sense.

We play Hull away in 1966-67, 67-68 and 68-69 whilst Keith was at Ewood.

I've been to Watford's ground a few times and I don't think it's Vicarage Road. You see yellow brick houses in the south east so it could be somewhere down there.
