I don't think so seeing as whoever he may be in dialogue with will now know he's got more cash to play with ?

I reckon whoever they are in for the sums will already have been done.

Also, surely not a chance we'd get Harry Wilson. He was playing regular Premier League football last season, surely we would be seen as a backward step.

I dont think and am not implying that we will or can sign him. But his 2 choices are to be outside the squad at Liverpool or to come to the Championship as transfers between Prem clubs are not allowed in this window.

Wilson also had a very poor spell at Bournemouth last season so not too sure his stock is too high.

It's either a loan to the championship or no first team football at least until January.

I think he will join a championship club but think other teams are likely to offer more. The two Welsh sides in for him and so are Derby who he played for previously

Saw this comment on the Bournemouth forum:

Wilson was a player who was rarely played in his best position while at AFCB. Almost always played out wide when he should have been tucked in behind the forwards in a more central role. He scored 15 goals for Derby in the Championship playing in that role and most of the ones he got with us (7 in total) were when he came inside. He also scored 7 in 11 games at Hull the season before in the same role.

Sounds like he's better in the Dack role than out wide.

If we managed to sign a left back and Harry Wilson we would surely be looking at playoffs minimum. He would add perfect balance to our side.

I don't think we will. I think he will command a big loan fee. If Mowbray was questioned about him I imagine his response would be a good old chuckle. Whoever ends up with him though will have managed to secure the outstanding loan deal in the league this year. One that could make all the difference.

Surely we don't need another keeper and i thought he was getting over the old boys act.  Trouble is with TM i fear rotating keepers next if he has a load on the books !

Unless they’ve realised the Greek keeper is a bit shit?

2/3 players = Douglas & Pears with a half arsed attempt at Wilson.

Douglas, Pears and Downing incoming

In fairness, I'd mark that down as a very strong window given the circumstances.

Talk about considerable cash injections from the owners for transfers and talk of Harry Wilson seems sadly over the top. The trio you mention seems more realistic.

Douglas would be an upgrade at left back, Pears would be a bit of a strange one suggesting that the Greek isnt yet ready to be deputy, and Downing would be illogical more for the timing of the deal. He had a very impressive season but we will be nowhere near match fitness and thus will have and will miss a decent chunk of the time we are already light in midfield following Travis' injury.

Herbie Kane?

Personal suggestion or media speculation?

Seems like he is well down the list, but the timing makes no sense. Why sign him after 5+ games when he will need longer to get match fit when we need the bodies now? If we wanted him back, we should have done it far earlier.

Dont get us signing another keeper to be honest.

Maybe the "huge amount of team news" includes an injury to Kaminski while on international duty??

Mowbray said that Kaminski and Evans both need to do Covid tests before they are eligible to play on Saturday.

Downing and Pears would be a poor waste of resources.

Downing, as mentioned, is about 15mph behind the pace our team is trying to play at, and a top ten earner... which can't happen when we need to renegotiate with so many.

Downing in, basically relegates one of Holtby or Rothwell (or Brereton) to the bench OR means we skimp on Douglas/ANother LB.

Thought he was good last season, but now that ship has sailed.

Pears... why? We have signed our presumptive #1 and #2, plus we have Fisher, Hilton, Eastham AND two Academy keepers. That is already 8 Keepers for 3 shirts.

----

Douglas is on £30k a week (promotion wage rise) and the hold up is the fact Leeds think they can get 50%+ covered AND a loan fee, that is why Watford have cooled on him.

We can't afford Downing AND Douglas.
