A very enjoyable game to watch and a superb second half performance.  I thought Johnson and Travis were outstanding in the centre.  Johnson got stronger and better as the game went on.

If Johnson got himself into shape and turned up for every game with the right attitude then he would be one of our best players.

Im not sure Samuel is any better, that performance very much the exception rather than the rule.

Even so, you could have 10 of him for one Gallagher. Or 14 for a Brereton.

This sums up Rovers for me. It's strange but when the team is under pressure to perform they simply cannot do it. When there isn't any pressure they look a very good outfit.

A few other correlating factors which I don't think are unrelated to today's win:

1) The pressure was off the team but the scrutiny was on TM. Funny how when the fans start getting restless the obvious belated team changes happen and the performances improve.

2) Following on from number 1, it's no surprise we do better when Bennett and Gally aren't in the team.

3) We were clear underdogs and Cardiff needed to come at us. These are games we relish far more than lower league scraps. Sure we get overawed and play too cautiously vs the big clubs in the division like Leeds, but any game where we aren't clear favourites and the opposition comes to us, seem to be the ones we relish.

Great win. Shows what we are capable of. Questions need to be asked why we aren't doing it when it really counts.

Very good post.

Arguably the inconsistency merely serves to underline why we need a new manager.

They CAN do it when they want but the need a manager who demands higher standards and can drag those standards out of them on a more consistent basis.

........for another Club.

Must have put a zero on his value with the stunning strikes in the last two games.

We cant afford to lose Armstrong at any cost. He is goal machine and probably will be our player of the season

I agree completely Chadster.

Imo we can't afford to lose ANY of Nyambe, Lenihan, Travis, Dack or Armstrong.

Yet you yourself have conceded one or more will probably be sold to plug financial holes this summer, so who knows what will happen?

agreed, with a more progressive and positive approach tactics wise,we could get even more out of him,you need to be building the side around your best players

Give over, Graham isn't a patch on Armstrong.

He's still had it, he merely looks better because he's being compared to garbage like Gallagher, Samuel and, to date, Brereton.

It is rather worrying that he is still the second best forward at the club despite the fact he is nearly 35 and well and truly on the wain.

This just reaffirms my belief he doesn't actually want us to get promoted....He just keeps us on the cusp so he can claim he's doing a decent job...

Not sure how this makes sense? Wants to not do well so he looks like he’s doing well?

Anyway, Arma must have plenty of suitors after this season and his highlight reel, but it’s Travis we really need to keep. I bloody love him.

It’s very simple really, we are a better shaped team when Graham plays. You don’t have to be a supreme athlete to play football, vision and being able to play others in are far more important.

I would deffo keep Armstrong, Travis and Lenihan. Dack depends how he play after his injury

And yet, he benches him in favour of his 2 total wasters to justify spunking money we don't have. Genius.

(That could also apply to Graham)

This. Good players don't always need a fancy YouTube video reel.

I think Armstrong's highlight reel will be a bit more exciting than the one Brereton put out. His was all running and not many goals. Armstrong's will be not much running but lots of goals.

Well, since Nyambe probably wouldn't fetch much and would leave a glaring hole at RB, who would you sell to balance the books this summer?

To balance the books?

If the answer can't be Brereton and Gallagher, then that tells us the problem.

None of the rest will bring much more than £500k at the moment.

If we want to balance the books we’d need to sell every player, Brockhall and Ewood Park and all its contents. And we’d probably get more back for Brereton and Gallagher by stripping them down and selling them for parts/harvesting their organs.

I'm not talking about the entire books. I'm talking about getting straight with FFP.

Really enjoyed that second half - love a come from behind 3-2 win and what a goal to win it.

For all the thousands of pages of comments on here about Brereton and Gallagher, Dack and Armstrong might end up fetching double what those two dollopers cost.

Not getting the Nyambe goodwill tonight, I thought he was pants going forward all night

Didn't see tonight's game but when I watch him normally I get the impression he's playing very much to instruction, and not to get too far advanced up the pitch.

If he isn't, I agree it's something he can improve on.

He is pants when it comes to his final ball. He needs to practice the early ball across the six yard box.
