Stuart Posted July 14, 2020 Posted July 14, 2020 I honestly don’t think Tony and Neil were given the same script tonight. 10 minutes to go and Mowbray is throwing in the towel while Yardley thinks we are going for it. 2 Quote
Wing Wizard Windy Miller Posted July 14, 2020 Posted July 14, 2020 Points deduction aside, I wouldn't bet against Wigan finishing above us. 1 Quote
Boroblue Posted July 14, 2020 Posted July 14, 2020 The games not finished but we are back to a slightly worse 1980s team. An average old lag manager surrounded by a group of old lag players. A sprinkling of youth players who 15 years ago would have got nowhere near the team. Add to that the loaners that previously we never needed. It’s really just very depressing with no light at the end of the tunnel. Our only chance would be a great manager but this ones going nowhere. 4 Quote
RoversClitheroe Posted July 14, 2020 Posted July 14, 2020 Are we winning? You'd think that with the amount we are passing it round the back. Quote

WacoRover Posted July 14, 2020 Posted July 14, 2020 Buckley & Davenport on... should we expect something? Quote
unleaded Posted July 14, 2020 Posted July 14, 2020 Mowbray doesn’t know what he’s doing with these subs .... no system just put players on for the sake of it ... 8 Quote

AAK Posted July 14, 2020 Posted July 14, 2020 Do not know how good they are, but since the young lads came on, Rovers look far more potent, and willing to have a go. Give them all a chance next season. Quote
RoverKyle Posted July 14, 2020 Posted July 14, 2020 Apart from the odd tidy touch, what does Rankin-Costello offer? Probably more of a question for someone who has watched our u23 games, because I know he's had some good reviews at that level. I just don't see what we're getting with him. I appreciate he's being played out of position. Quote

Think anyone else people would be skeptical but Johnno I could see everyone getting behind him, I’ve seen clips and heard bits behind closed doors and he looks every bit the boss. Isn’t he well in with the NI set up too? Quote
Exiled_Rover Posted July 14, 2020 Posted July 14, 2020 In every cameo Davenport has had he's looked a tidy, mobile player. Why isn't he getting more game time? 5 Quote
Hasta Posted July 14, 2020 Posted July 14, 2020 Strategy appears to be work it slowly to Rothwell and see if he can run past a few. Even simple things like try Armstrong on the other side for 10 minutes we refuse to do. Quote

tomphil Posted July 14, 2020 Posted July 14, 2020 Non Rovers people on twitter scratching heads at the formation now saying 4222 The guy is unreal it's one long experiment to try and accommodate/justify his players Ridiculous. If you're going to experiment now do it with a team starting with the kids. 3 Quote
G Somerset Rover Posted July 14, 2020 Posted July 14, 2020 Why when we’re 1 behind with ten mins left do we never, ever lay a glove on the opposition? 4 Quote

Both of these are obviously stifled by playing at LB. Quote

Boroblue Posted July 14, 2020 Posted July 14, 2020 Saxton , don mackay,Jim Smith, Howard Kendall all made more from what they had but we are back at square one and it makes you feel a bit sick when with a bit of astute stuff we where a solid prem team Quote

I agree with it, if a team is going down anyway, then they should be punished the season after, it's like when people are given a 6 month driving ban, concurrent to a 12 month one already imposed, you aren't really being punished.
