chaddyrovers Posted November 9, 2020 Posted November 9, 2020 I think Sheffield Wednesday have made a mistake in sacking Monk and his staff there. I don't know what the owner wants there. Monk has transform the playing squad and cut the wage budgets they need. Surely Sheffield Wednesday target this season was staying up Quote
davulsukur Posted November 9, 2020 Posted November 9, 2020 Seems like an odd move. A win could see them out of the bottom 3. This season was always going to be tough for them with the points deduction and getting that halved was a real boost. See who they bring in I suppose. Quote
Waggy76 Posted November 9, 2020 Posted November 9, 2020 Probably already got someone lined up... Quote

Saying that, just seen the Sheff Wed owner on Sky and he looks a right nut job...? Edited November 9, 2020 by Sparks Rover Quote
Mattyblue Posted November 10, 2020 Posted November 10, 2020 Their fans are delighted by the look of social media. ‘Fraud’ etc. Quote
Vinjay Posted November 10, 2020 Posted November 10, 2020 Chansiri seems very bitter. Understandable really considering he's been punished for spending his own money. Quote

Vinjay Posted November 10, 2020 Posted November 10, 2020 (edited) Also berated Steve Bruce recently. Though in this case the bitterness just makes Chansiri look silly for appointing the prat in first place. https://www.nufcblog.co.uk/2020/11/06/explosive-steve-bruce-claims-arrive-as-sheffield-wednesday-owner-launches-brutal-attack-on-nufc-boss/ Edited November 10, 2020 by Vinjay Quote

Saying that, just seen the Sheff Wed owner on Sky and he looks a right nut job...? Yes. There was an article linked on here a while ago about him that was an interesting read. Him and his agent seem in cahoots. The article talked of how Boro were angry (possible legal dispute) over inflated transfer fees that he had arranged, and his agent tried to get himself a job as Head of Recruitment as well when Monk applied for the position of Manager at Brum. The fact he has been sacked from numerous clubs, often with not a bad record on the pitch suggests he is very dodgy and worth steering clear of. Quote
roversfan99 Posted November 10, 2020 Posted November 10, 2020 Only 2.17 goals per game this season in the Championship, exactly half of games have finished 0-0,1-0 or 1-1. Falling below its entertaining benchmark. Quote

HowieFive0 Posted November 10, 2020 Posted November 10, 2020 Off topic but not sure where to stick it ..but for anyone who enjoys their behind the scenes footie documentaries ..one has just started on BBC iPlayer . This Is Our Story : Inside Hearts ..following them from last season with their relegation through to this season . A good watch ! 2 Quote
Vinjay Posted November 12, 2020 Posted November 12, 2020 (edited) Also off topic (considering Charlton aren't a Championship club) but more bizarre events there today. Claims Thomas Sandgaard (his business Zynex is registered on the NASDAQ so surely his funds are legit and fans seem behind him) purchased from someone who "had no authority to sell" and he's been "ordered to leave". https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/54925763 Edited November 12, 2020 by Vinjay Quote

Won’t be pretty, but it will be effective! Now, has anyone at Wednesday got a good long throw? 1 Quote

Rhodes/Marriot/Windass aren't the sort of battering rams that Pulis would want, and the likes of Bannan and Brown will get a shock to the system! Quote
Rogerb Posted November 14, 2020 Posted November 14, 2020 It's to be hoped Preston get something out of their game against Wednesday on the 21st before we arrive on the 24th otherwise they are nailed on for their first home points of the season against us! Quote

Yes if Wednesday have any precious, entitled football snob fans they had better get ready to change direction. I too think Pulis will keep them up by hook or by crook. Quote

Pulis was the manager who kick started Adama Traore's career at Boro and also his Stoke side heavily featured Ricardo Fuller. He does play direct but he is certainly not totally against the use of flair players and mavericks. Quote

This means that by next season, Pulis and Warnock will be knockimg on the door next season + the relegated teams + the other 3/4 that always have a shout.... Keeping mowbray just consigns us to years in this league. You said it yourself first, he will make the defence a priority...same as warnock has done. Mowbray had years and hasn't even give it any thought. 3 Quote
