I think Sheffield Wednesday have made a mistake in sacking Monk and his staff there. I don't know what the owner wants there. Monk has transform the playing squad and cut the wage budgets they need. Surely Sheffield Wednesday target this season was staying up

He's a dodgy piece of work though isn't he.?  Shifty transfer dealing.

Saying that, just seen the Sheff Wed owner on Sky and he looks a right nut job...?

Yes. There was an article linked on here a while ago about him that was an interesting read. Him and his agent seem in cahoots. The article talked of how Boro were angry (possible legal dispute) over inflated transfer fees that he had arranged, and his agent tried to get himself a job as Head of Recruitment as well when Monk applied for the position of Manager at Brum.

The fact he has been sacked from numerous clubs, often with not a bad record on the pitch suggests he is very dodgy and worth steering clear of.

Off topic but not sure where to stick it ..but for anyone who enjoys their behind the scenes footie documentaries ..one has just started on BBC iPlayer .

This Is Our Story : Inside Hearts ..following them from last season with their relegation through to this season . A good watch !

Also off topic (considering Charlton aren't a Championship club) but more bizarre events there today. Claims Thomas Sandgaard (his business Zynex is registered on the NASDAQ so surely his funds are legit and fans seem behind him) purchased from someone who "had no authority to sell" and he's been "ordered to leave".

Safe to say, he will do his usual, get them tight at the back, make them hard to beat and probably keep them up, against the odds.

Won’t be pretty, but it will be effective!

Now, has anyone at Wednesday got a good long throw?

Probably right, but looking at the playing squad it doesn't look like a great fit. Rhodes/Marriot/Windass aren't the sort of battering rams that Pulis would want, and the likes of Bannan and Brown will get a shock to the system!

Yes if Wednesday have any precious, entitled football snob fans they had better get ready to change direction. I too think Pulis will keep them up by hook or by crook.

Pulis was the manager who kick started Adama Traore's career at Boro and also his Stoke side heavily featured Ricardo Fuller.

He does play direct but he is certainly not totally against the use of flair players and mavericks.

Sheff Wed now have a better manager than us. This means that by next season,  Pulis and Warnock will be knockimg on the door next season + the relegated teams + the other 3/4 that always have a shout....

Keeping mowbray just consigns us to years in this league.

You said it yourself first,  he will make the defence a priority...same as warnock has done.

Mowbray had years and hasn't even give it any thought.
