You're comparing a manager who hasn't managed to finish 10th in the Championship to a manager who has finished 10th in the Premier League. You're comparing chalk and cheese or apples and oranges.

We are where we are.

Tried and tested managers not the order of the day, it seems. Sure some of these left field choices will pay off, but it makes for a very unpredictable season.

This is Watford. Their managers have tenures denoted by months.

Unlike Harrogate Town whose manager beats Gareth Ainsworth by more than three years.

I see Norwich have just signed Hugill. What a strange club they are, they got into the Premiership and barely spent a penny yet since relegation they have spent money on Dowell, Hugill & a few others from abroad.

Has to be about wages. They do not want to sign players on PL wages so just bring in signings in the Championship on Championship wages in order to hopefully bounce back up and stand a chance of staying up the following season.

Cannot think of any other reason they do things how they do.

Apparently because they communicated that they had totally written off any chance of survival and thus enjoying the reward of what they had earnt prior to the season that they did the right thing. Totally illogical and against the spirit of the game.

I’d argue that the obscene wages paid to very average players is against the spirit of the game.

Explained to fans they were not going to make the same mistake as last time and potentially bankrupt the side. Explained they gained promotion 3 years ahead of schedule before they had everything in place to consolidate a place in the premier league. Also were priced out wage wise on the 3 players whose bids they had accepted.

Invested the cash in youth side, stadium improvements and improving the training ground etc.

Now have a bank balance of around £30m and a profit likely this season as well. Very much the Burnley approach, Yo-Yo for a few seasons buildup the club infrastructure and make sure when you are promoted the second time you have all the infrastructure and player experience to stay there.

I dont think Dyche told his players that they had no chance of surviving when they first came up. Thats the bit that would be hard to swallow. The problem is that feel people seem to think the only 2 options are wreckless gambles on big earners or accepting relegation before youve kicked a ball.

Or their top man might be off and they need a replacement?
