TheRovers1994 Posted August 22, 2020 Posted August 22, 2020 Guys let's not be too judgemental it's our first friendly back 5 Quote
Fraserkirky Posted August 22, 2020 Posted August 22, 2020 Very disappointing first half. Out played by an inferior side, when does it end. Holtby very poor, Davenport, not impressed either. Buckley so out of position. Travis was shite Bell sleeping as usual Quote

Disappointing penalty from Brereton - a few bright moments but he looked more like pre-lockdown Ben than post-lockdown Ben. Barely noticed Holtby and Buckley - not really convinced by either from that performance. Really want to see a lot more from both of them in creating chances or scoring goals. Bell and Nyambe were okay - but for a side that should be battling for promotion I'm not convinced they are good enough. If we were able to bring a class LB and RB, with Bell and Nyambe adding depth, we would have a much stronger squad. Of course, it's just a friendly against Fleetwood, so can't judge a whole lot from it. Did not notice Holtby playing. Turned on the last 15 min. Quote

He just doesn't get the ball when he's stuck out wide. He needs to play central. It's not like Tony to get worst out of player by playing him out of position. ? He has had chances in other roles and I haven't see it. What game did he play well in? Quote

Bigdoggsteel Posted August 22, 2020 Posted August 22, 2020 Looking forward to seeing Lyons and the young lad from PNE Quote

Charlton away, he was excellent, playing as a 10. Otherwise IMO he has been ineffective pretty much every time he has played/come on. And considering that he is behind a few in that role, I think he needs a loan. 1 Quote

Ya a season starting in League 1 would do him the world of good. Quote

He tends to look neat and tidy and can clearly take the ball on the half turn, and is technically decent. But in fairness from not his favoured position, he struggles to influence and impact upon games. Quote

I'd play him in a 3 man midfield, a bit more advanced than the other two. He's technically very good, can spot a pass and can take the ball on the half turn. 1 Quote

Can understand why he doesn't play centrally more regularly. We have better options there for competitive games. 1 Quote
