Is Lenihan out? Also think Johnson will definitely play given he has started all recent friendlies. Edited September 5, 2020 by joey_big_nose Quote

Exiled in Toronto Posted September 5, 2020 Posted September 5, 2020 Decent first half. Holtby the playmaker and Johnson looking fitter, haven’t noticed Travis much. Personally I didn’t think it was a great ball by Nyambe, there was no way Armstrong was getting to it without being offside. Restricting a top 6 club to one long range effort on goal isn’t bad for any defence, let alone this one. Quote
Hoochie Bloochie Mama Posted September 5, 2020 Posted September 5, 2020 Missed the first 30 mins but I think we've done ok. Nyambe looks more composed in the last third. Couple of excellent crosses. Holtby's passing is good. Our closing down has been excellent at times - well organised. Gotta love Travis. When there's no need he'll still have a nibble, even if they're on the floor. He must be horrible to play against ? 1 Quote
Amo Posted September 5, 2020 Posted September 5, 2020 (edited) Not bad so far. Holtby has looked lively and Nyambe's been a threat. Edited September 5, 2020 by Amo Quote
rovers11 Posted September 5, 2020 Posted September 5, 2020 Nyambe our best player in that half. He will be a prem player at some point. Holtby been impressive too. Magloire showing that he’s probably the best of the young centre halves that are coming through the academy. Bell has done surprisingly well so far. 4 Quote
yellowsubmarine Posted September 5, 2020 Posted September 5, 2020 And now for the dreaded Tony Mowbray half time talk. 3 Quote
Tugay's Right Foot Posted September 5, 2020 Posted September 5, 2020 Hmm..I thought Brereton didn’t do too badly out there. And Nyambe is putting himself in the window, some nice crosses too. 1 Quote
des Posted September 5, 2020 Posted September 5, 2020 Watch the first half on there TV website we played ok but the full backs of ours look s bit weak to say the least Quote

After a shakey start, hes done well. Brereton has been abysmal when tracking back. Hes the next Jason Lowe, runs up to people and does nothing. Didn't even attempt to stick a leg out to block crosses. 1 Quote

Really quick thinking and quick feet from JRC too. Seemed like the split second he saw Johnson was there he played a perfect pass to him. Quote
bazza Posted September 5, 2020 Posted September 5, 2020 Lenihan is with the ROI squad. They have a match tomorrow I think 1 Quote
Miller11 Posted September 5, 2020 Posted September 5, 2020 I’d love to see @JoeH do a heat map on Brereton that half. He must’ve spent a total of about 12 seconds in their box and never got beyond the penalty spot. For all the talk of him needing to play as a centre forward, it just doesn’t look like that is his game. Quote

Brereton seemed completely non-existent that half. I’d have Dolan on and push Armstrong completely central. Quote

He's an inside forward who can dribble a bit and that's about it. 1 Quote
AllRoverAsia Posted September 5, 2020 Posted September 5, 2020 Impressed by Holtby. Good on the ball and closing down. Nyambe excellent and Bell maybe can do a bit. No point in pumping hoofballs, Arma is too small and BB can't head or indeed jump. Not a bad game at all, so far. LCTV coverage puts iFollow to shame. 4 Quote

Won't know what hit him. Quote

It’s still a football match! ??♂️ Thought this too, its ridiculous. The result might not matter but this is our last chance for match fitness so I want to see 90 minutes of actual football. Quote

Edit - doh talking about Brereton here. Edited September 5, 2020 by joey_big_nose Quote

Wingers/wide middielders usually learn that as they progress. You can see the difference with JRC and Nyambe who dove tailed really well and looked much more solid than the left. 2 Quote
Fraserkirky Posted September 5, 2020 Posted September 5, 2020 Nyambe needs to calm down, will get a move to Leicester if he keeps up his first half performance. Ive just seen the worst ever pass from Johnson. 1 Quote
Miker Posted September 5, 2020 Posted September 5, 2020 Someone seriously needs to run some throw-in training sessions with the team. We look clueless and lose it every time. 1 Quote
Miker Posted September 5, 2020 Posted September 5, 2020 Good chance for JRC there.. he's going to score a few this season I feel. Always getting himself into scoring positions. We look well up for it right now. 1 Quote
Fraserkirky Posted September 5, 2020 Posted September 5, 2020 Bell having a good game so far. Much better! 3 Quote
