Yes Capello and Eriksson did even worst than Southgate. Thats cost 40 million pounds in wages wasted by hiring those two clowns Quote

Capello was a great manager who decided he could do without it and walked away. Southgate is just a yes man for the FA and he knows that this is the biggest job that he will ever get. Capello was stealing a living as England manager and should have gone after his pathetic effort there. Capello good club manager but pathetic international manager and he got found out for poor tactics, selection and motivate skills Quote

Oldgregg86 Posted October 8, 2020 Posted October 8, 2020 Trippier made captain Grealish, ings, sako and Calvert Lewin start Quote

Can’t really comment , only seen him play once for atletico and he played ok but that seems like years ago , must of been a champions league game pre original lockdown. Not seen the rest of the line up so can only assume it’s because he’s an experienced old head amongst debutants and less experienced players Quote
Oldgregg86 Posted October 8, 2020 Posted October 8, 2020 (edited) Just seen the line up . Makes sense tbf Pope Gomez Coady. Keane trippier. Winks. Phillips. Sako Ings Lewin Grealish Edited October 8, 2020 by Oldgregg86 Quote

matt83 Posted October 8, 2020 Posted October 8, 2020 5 defenders vs wales. At least Pickford not in. Quote
roversfan99 Posted October 8, 2020 Posted October 8, 2020 I think Southgate is going to be playing 3 at the back going forward. Not a fan of it personally. Not sure which if any centre backs walk into the team at the moment. 1 Quote
matt83 Posted October 8, 2020 Posted October 8, 2020 Only a friendly I suppose but one of the worst starting xi England teams I’ve ever seen. 3 Quote
roversfan99 Posted October 8, 2020 Posted October 8, 2020 Seems that Southgate has had an eye on Rovers games. Danny Ings on the right wing! Quote
benhben Posted October 8, 2020 Posted October 8, 2020 Woth some of the best forward players in the world and playing some pretty good stuff with a 4-3-3 over the last 12 months cant get my head around why Southgate seens to have gone back to this crap 3-5-2 formation. Terrible to watch and dont even think the players enjoy it. Mogga esque 1 Quote
roversfan99 Posted October 8, 2020 Posted October 8, 2020 With 3 centre backs and 2 holding midfielders, it certainly doesnt lend itself to dynamism, it doesnt suit the current set of players. 1 Quote
DeeCee Posted October 8, 2020 Posted October 8, 2020 Very average but young, certainly on the International stage. Quote
Oldgregg86 Posted October 8, 2020 Posted October 8, 2020 Handing caps out like toffees these days. Pointless game, pointless exercise, nothing learned , fulfilling a fixtures . ? 3 Quote

The 433 we were playing back end of 2018 was great. Why haven't we not just stuck with that? On the plus side Calvert-Lewin looks a beast and Grealish looking very dangerous. Another exciting set of forward player to add to the reams we already have. Haven't conceded in 6 games too, so we are doing pretty well. Belgium will tell us a lot more. Quote
simongarnerisgod Posted October 8, 2020 Posted October 8, 2020 ancelotti has done wonders with calvert lewin,he looked a slow, cumbersome oaf last season, now he looks mobile and a handful to anyone 4 Quote
