Rankin Costello lacks pace and anticipation

Many of the players lack anticipation, it is as though they are playing an alien game ..

No ball games sense ..

Playing possession football is good but you need to score when clearly on top! On a positive note nufc squad valued over £45m and we are outplaying them so something good is happening on the playing front

Awful decision from the ref to give handball against Dolan there a minute ago. It was smashed against his upper arm/shoulder from a few yards away whilst momentum was carrying him forward. He would have had to have no arm to not 'handball' that.

Shocking backline for their goal.

Really poor that but the buck stops with Nyambe. Is too deep in the wonky defensive line and rather than go with the runner steps up for offside. It's down to the 2 full backs to get that line right as they can see right across - poor from Nyambe that.

100%.

We might say Mowbray’s possession football doesn’t work; but, maybe that’s what has kept us so close today.  Maybe Arma will be the difference maker

If you watch Newcastle's defensive shape when we are tippy tappying around the edge of the area, they barely need to change it. We don't make enough runs to pull their shape apart. Players move a bit, but only to receive a pass and keep it recycling around the edge. Too easy to defend against.

(So far of course, could always change especially with subs)

Dolan off, I’m off to get my pitchfork out

While you got the fork out, can you shake it at Mowbray who still perseveres with playing Brereton out on the right wing.
