However as predicted he's turned into as much use as a chocolate tea pot. I'm sure some of Mowbrays digs about players crying off after they've been through a session and declared themselves fit has been aimed at him. 100%. He alluded to it in a recent interview, basically saying Ayala was saying he isn't fit even though the medical team were happy that he could play. We don't need 'pros' like that when the chips are down as they are. I'd imagine his nose is out of joint too, that we play with three CB's and he still couldn't get a game. Taken all in all he’s been a pretty bad signing. 4 Quote
arbitro Posted March 15, 2022 Posted March 15, 2022 Whenever Ayala has played he has been decent but you can't build stability around a player like this. So then the question has to be asked why on earth he got a three year deal? I'm guessing he is one of our top paid players too. 6 Quote
AllRoverAsia Posted March 15, 2022 Posted March 15, 2022 (edited) It's still only March. He will be back when there's little chance of a bitter easterly wind. Spring is coming. Edited March 15, 2022 by AllRoverAsia 1 Quote

joey_big_nose Posted March 16, 2022 Posted March 16, 2022 We should never sign players with a really significant injury record like Ayala. Way too risky. 2 Quote

I bet that had an impact on Lenihan's response to his own contract offer... 2 Quote

Why do Rovers often sign players who can never stay fit and, more importantly, are known to never stay fit before we sign them? FFS Another reason to sack Mowbray. 2 Quote
AllRoverAsia Posted March 25, 2022 Posted March 25, 2022 I've put this here as the first name on the casualty list is Ayala. It seems that he will be back when he wants to be. https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/20016059.likely-return-dates-blackburn-rovers-nine-injured-players/ Quote
Guest Posted March 25, 2022 Posted March 25, 2022 Unbelievable! Basically the laid back gurning chumpmeister says in that article that the players have decided that the season is already over and he agrees with them. The arrogance and absolute disregard for the paying fan of this man is painful to see. Could he not just be a bit more sensitive and diplomatic in responding to questions about the squad, instead of simply saying stuff like, "He's back on the grass, he will play when he is ready' SOUNDS LIKE MOWBRAY HAS BEEN ON THE GRASS, MAN. Now there's one WEED I'd surely like to see in the compost bin. Arse. Quote
G Somerset Rover Posted March 25, 2022 Posted March 25, 2022 This bloke is doing my head in now. What’s the betting he’ll get paid off in the summer as he still has a year on his deal. 1 Quote

Wheelton Blue Posted March 25, 2022 Posted March 25, 2022 On his day, he's a very good defender for our level. He's no use to us though, as he's never fit. Terrible signing in hindsight. Quote

Mattyblue Posted March 25, 2022 Posted March 25, 2022 I.e. he missed large swathes of most seasons (his personal winter break being standard) pre coming here… 3 Quote
Wheelton Blue Posted March 25, 2022 Posted March 25, 2022 Fair enough. Just a terrible signing then 🙂 My point still stands though, in that he's no use to us. Quote

Wheelton Blue Posted March 25, 2022 Posted March 25, 2022 He's on what, 17k a week? No one is going to take him off our hands if that's the case. It'll be another Mulgrew scenario, where we just let him run his contract down whilst contributing nothing, all at the club's expense. Nice one Mogga. Quote
AllRoverAsia Posted March 25, 2022 Posted March 25, 2022 Rovers gave an ageing Boro reject and known sicknote a 3 year contract on an alleged £17k pw. FGS that deal stinks the place out. I am sick of this fecking shit show. Corrupt twats. Quote
