Hardly touched the ball, should have scored from point blank range then missed an easy chance to play Brereton in. Dolan, Rothwell outstanding, Brereton really good again just needs a couple of breaks in front of goal. Really good to watch. Keep it up lads. Armstrong's not actually as fast as he's made out to be. No way the defender should have caught him from where he picked up the ball on half way. I reckon both Rothwell and Dolan are quicker. 1 Quote

Think TM stated last season that Rothwell was the quickest in the squad. Not sure on Dolan but AA does have some pace. He should have played DOlan in earlier though...he wants in on the goals though. USABlue Posted September 26, 2020 Posted September 26, 2020 (edited) Did not get on till 30 mins in, was blown away by what I came on to. No Nyambe? Did he start with the same team that beat Wycombe? Edited September 26, 2020 by USABlue Quote
philipl Posted September 26, 2020 Posted September 26, 2020 Bell had an outstanding First Half. Giving him a shout out. 14 shots, 7 on target in the first half for Rovers. Derby have taken Marriot off. 2 Quote
Stuart Posted September 26, 2020 Posted September 26, 2020 Here’s hoping for something we don’t get very often. Two halves. 2 Quote

So whilst that's nice, I don't really care as I watched the game, and whilst I'm not saying he was awful, he wasn't 'let's keep our best right back out of the side' good. His delivery was worse than I've come to expect from him, and wasn't great in the game before that. When you win 5 nil against a poor team it's not as amazing to rack up good stats. If we win this emphatically it won't matter who is at RB today, but looking forward it worries me he made this call. If we sell Nyambe for a Raya style pittance I'll be furious. All I'm saying is it's not a ludicrous decision to keep JRC at RB again this week. It would have been a really difficult decision to make and in the end it's not proven to be a disaster. Personally I don't really rate JRC as a full back, and I think he has struggled a bit today. He offers more than Nyambe in terms of creativity and creating scoring opportunities, but Nyambe is superior in terms of pace and defensive ability. Quote
davulsukur Posted September 26, 2020 Posted September 26, 2020 Crazy to see us 3 up at half time away at Derby! 1 Quote

All the little bits of “player development”, “changing our style” and “building a club” are starting to bear fruit. If anyone can’t see the strides we’ve made under TM - in what is now the toughest times we’ve ever had... then you’re blind. Behind closed doors is exactly what we needed. Come off it, no-one could have predicted the way we've played the last couple of games. We were terrible after lockdown and pretty poor as recently as the opening fixture against Doncaster. The League form this season has come out of absolutely nowhere. Not complaining though, long may it last. Quote

1864roverite Posted September 26, 2020 Posted September 26, 2020 Just keep it tight now we don’t need to chase anymore goals. Quote
callumrovers Posted September 26, 2020 Posted September 26, 2020 Derby changed to a 3 - 5 -2 - Rooney now up top. Quote
Gogger Posted September 26, 2020 Posted September 26, 2020 Amazing what an actual winger can do to a formation 6 Quote

superniko Posted September 26, 2020 Posted September 26, 2020 Whether you love the guy, or get frustrated by the guy (I don’t think anyone actually hates him)...You have to give Mowbray credit for the difference in Rovers now to when he took over from Coyle (and whilst lowering our wage bill). Serioisly though, who does Dack replace? 2 Quote
Stuart Posted September 26, 2020 Posted September 26, 2020 Famous last words and all that but Rooney looks finished at this level. Should have stayed in the MLS or gone to Rangers. 1 Quote
Tugay-is-God Posted September 26, 2020 Posted September 26, 2020 JRC lucky not to concede a penalty. Could see the ref giving them something this half. 1 Quote
simongarnerisgod Posted September 26, 2020 Posted September 26, 2020 come on the lads get big ben his goal 2 Quote

But if it ain’t broke - don’t fix it. Holtby - Johnson - Rothwell has been key, never mind the make up of the front 3. 1 Quote

AdamRochina Posted September 26, 2020 Posted September 26, 2020 They look up for it this half. Don't look like a team given up at 3 down Quote
