davulsukur Posted August 21, 2021 Posted August 21, 2021 Good to see him start to be fair. Obviously was good for us but I had my doubts he would go back and get many games at Liverpool. Fair play to the lad. Quote
riverholmes Posted August 21, 2021 Posted August 21, 2021 Looks as if Klopp sees him as a midfielder, rather than a forward. I tend to agree. His brightest moments for us were often from deep, playing through balls. I have a feeling he'll have a break out season for Liverpool and get ahead of Curtis Jones in the team. It will look rather embarrassing for us that we had two Premiership standard creators/scorers, in Armstrong and Elliot, should they both do well, and we still finished 15th in the Championship, last year. 7 Quote
Proudtobeblue&white Posted August 21, 2021 Posted August 21, 2021 He's too good against the rabble. Quote
DavidMailsTightPerm Posted August 21, 2021 Posted August 21, 2021 First time I have watched a full Burnley match - what a bunch of thugs, talk about dark arts. Elliott did very well in patches - definitely didn't look out of place. Quote
RoverDom Posted August 21, 2021 Posted August 21, 2021 Solid performance from elliot, got battered around a bit by Burnley but carried on going. Beautiful pass for salahs offside goal Quote
TheRoversReturn Posted August 22, 2021 Posted August 22, 2021 Elliot's gonna be a fine player, he has the speed, the vision, the skill at 18 that make him stand out. Shame we didn't get him this year as he'd be a loan that would really improve the team, most of those in previous seasons have not. Quote
yankfan Posted September 12, 2021 Posted September 12, 2021 Gruesome break. That looked awful. Hope he’s able to recover Quote
G Somerset Rover Posted September 12, 2021 Posted September 12, 2021 (edited) Broken leg for sure. Gutted for the lad; just started to become a regular for Liverpool and then that happens. Edited September 12, 2021 by Gavlar Somerset Rover! 4 Quote
RoverDom Posted September 12, 2021 Posted September 12, 2021 Fingers crossed but I don't think its as bad as it looked. Hope it's a speedy recovery, great talent Quote
arbitro Posted September 12, 2021 Posted September 12, 2021 What a tragedy for the young lad who was really looking the part for Liverpool. Hopefully it's a clean break with no complications (assuming it is broken) and he can be back fully fit for next season. Quote
1864roverite Posted September 12, 2021 Posted September 12, 2021 Looked like a break and gutted for the lad Quote
Backroom Tom Posted September 12, 2021 Backroom Posted September 12, 2021 Foot was definitely flopping around but hopefully it’s clean and a swift recovery Quote

dallydally Posted September 12, 2021 Posted September 12, 2021 Didn't see the tackle but the pundits are making it clear it was a horrendous tackle and really bad injury Quote

It was debatable if it was even a foul but it certainly wasn't a red card. The ref didn't even give a foul initially. Edited September 12, 2021 by Ewood Ace 7 Quote
dallydally Posted September 12, 2021 Posted September 12, 2021 Of course it was a foul. You need to make an appointment with Specsavers!! Quote
RoverDom Posted September 12, 2021 Posted September 12, 2021 Thought he got the ball tbf, both feet weren't off the ground. Thought a red was harsh and based on the outcome rather than the tackle 4 Quote
Backroom Tom Posted September 12, 2021 Backroom Posted September 12, 2021 Dislocated ankle so maybe one of those that looked much worse than the reality More an unlucky one than a terrible tackle, had his leg not got caught that way there would have been no card and no foul Quote

Thought a red was harsh and based on the outcome rather than the tackle The refs reacted with emotion rather than using their heads. (Seems VAR didn't get involved, 4th official on side called it.) Just like the ref admitted he did with Gomez I believe afterwards. Said he saw how bad the injury was and sent Son off unfairly. Awful injury for poor Harvey just when he was breaking in the 1st team. Good luck to him on the recovery. But I'd struggle to make a case for that being a yellow, never mind a red. 1 Quote
Armchair supporter supremo Posted September 12, 2021 Posted September 12, 2021 (edited) poor lad, in this instance I really hope he's not going to join the long list of players that played their best football for us before going onto 'bigger things' Edited September 12, 2021 by Armchair supporter supremo Quote
RoverDom Posted September 12, 2021 Posted September 12, 2021 (edited) Dislocated ankle that got put back quite quickly. If he's managed to avoid doing damage to his ligaments he's hopefully come out of it much better than expected Edited September 12, 2021 by RoverDom Quote
