It's disappointing Pickering has gone back on loan - was looking forward to seeing him in a Rovers shirt. 

Still, at least Tony gets a free pass for another season at the club by telling the owners we'll be stronger next year.

We will see how young Pickering does once he gets here.  I found an FM article that says he's a lower league Roberto Carlos!  So I am expecting a kid with legs the size of tree trunks who can smack a ball at 300mph accurately into the top bin from free kicks!  Again, we will see.  Good signing cannot see us losing money on him, as he is English and a left back at last.

Is Pickering a Premier League standard player? If he’s not then have we given up on promotion, and if he is what use is it having PL class players on loan in league one?

Martin Samuelson- remember him

released from Hull and signed for danish team aab perm. I remember he was lauded as a talent but seems like he hasn’t really kicked on as expected. Certainly his time with us was underwhelming

Actually at some point he looked better than Martin Ødegaard. Don't know what happend to him, I think he made some wrong choices career wise.

Would take it a step further - if he's no better than Bell or Douglas then why sign him at all?  If he is better then he should be playing for us NOW starting at QPR on Saturday.  We know all about Bell and although Douglas has had a couple of better games really, it doesn't say too much following his string of, IMO, abysmal performances for Rovers

Just hope this is another another 'Stagliakis' type signing where we were supposed to have unearthed a gem and then Mowbray found it necessary to sign Pears.....................................!

By the sounds of it I don't think the deal would have got done if we didn't agree to loan him back. No issue for me, Douglas is improving, Bell is just about capable of being back-up, Pickering to come in as first choice next season. Looking forward to seeing him play and hopefully he successfully fills what has been a problem position for years. Let's not get all negative an hour after the lad has been unveiled eh

You don't have to PL standard to get promoted to the PL. One step at a time.
