Lenihan and Toney were both doing the exact same thing, the difference was Toney was waiting for contact so he could throw himself to the ground, whereas Lenihan wasn't

Sounds like Toney was just doing his job as any CF would do.

Gotta look to the break for any success now, which suits us, generally, but we look very rattled. It was a foul, it was a penalty, it was probably a yellow and all of it was unnecessary. Lenihan gets a small grab of his own shirt and then goes in much harder, he's been tricked, but that's how strikers are entitled to play. It's not befitting of a captain to get sucked in there, it's poor, poor play.

Wasn’t even a foul never mind a red. I don’t know what people expect lenihen to do other than what he did . Didn’t push him, didn’t trip him and didn’t met him go past. Game ruined by a shite decision. We looked really good until that. Hopefully we can continue somehow with ten men

Unfortunately you're not allowed to defend in the modern game.

If the attacking player throws themselves to the ground at any contact, how do you counter that?

Ya in modern football we all want our strikers to hit the ground as easily as possible..it's the way football is gone.

Clumsy but that's the challenge when some attackers are just waiting to hit the deck

Pretty much every striker does it, Gallagher identical at Preston, get across and hope the defender is silly enough to commit the foul

Lenihan is experienced enough to know better to be honest

Anyway Buckley on at right back is an interesting one and shows we still need to add depth

Sergi Canos. Going out of his way to get a fellow professional sent off. And then celebrating like he scored a goal. That and his hair sums up the problem with modern footballers.

....and gloves ..

Try and touch them as little as possible, which is going to completely change the game.

Clear sending off for me, but feel for Lenihan as you have Toney running away ahead of you in the box. He should have just let him go, but it's instinctive to fight for the ball.

Why the hell is Buckley on at RB??

Would Trybull not have made more sense at right back than Buckley?

Or Johnson at centre back even?

I would've thought Trybull at RB, yeah

I’d hate to be a defender in this era

I used to play full back for my local team, this was like 7 years ago but I remember a winger took a dive from one of my "challenges"

I was absolutely fuming. Its embarrassing.

We were absolutely all over them before that.
I am more upset with Lenihan over the completely unnecessary booking on the touch line. Penalty is harsh, but he is completely brainless at times.

Gallagher's was completely different. He played for it too, but today they were running side by side and Lenihan was a bit clumsy, Toney literally flew through the air with minimum contact, such was his excitement at being given the opportunity to dive.

Games are won and lost now depending on if your player dives or not at the correct time. It's sad to see.

What is it with Brentford away and things going 180 in a matter of minutes? Perhaps one day we’ll hold a lead there.

We did....and got relegated ?
