With Armstrong up top we've always got a chance on the break. Holding out for 45 mins with 10 men is a long way out of our comfort zone though. A loss today is okay considering recent results. Losing Lenihan for multiple games is a huge blow though. Hope we can appeal. Quote

Ran across him and the bloke tripped him. Toney just waited for any sort of contact and threw himself to the ground. It's a yellow card for diving. 1 Quote
Butty Posted December 5, 2020 Posted December 5, 2020 Don’t give up hope yet lads, we’ve won there with 10 men before when Shane Duffy scored that memorable goal. I’d happily take a point though of course. 1 Quote
CambridgeRover Posted December 5, 2020 Posted December 5, 2020 Looking at the replay that all stemmed from Lenihan's positioning. He is completely incapable of positioning himself well. Not only is he out of position compared to the rest of the defensive line he allows Toney to get between himself and the ball. Lenihan has fallen off this year and he is no longer someone to build around in the future, 4 Quote
JacknOry Posted December 5, 2020 Posted December 5, 2020 Lenihan thrown the game for us - we had the beating of them. 1 Quote

Looked pretty 50/50 to me. Exactly! Think the 'ups and downs' tend to balance out over a season. Quote

I am more upset with Lenihan over the completely unnecessary booking on the touch line. Penalty is harsh, but he is completely brainless at times. Did he get a yellow? BBC just showing a red. Quote

superniko Posted December 5, 2020 Posted December 5, 2020 Before the red card I thought Trybull, Johnson and Rothwell were playing excellent. What a shame and it’s absolutely killed the game for us. We say it every week but the quality of referees at this level is nothing short of shambolic. But we rode our luck with decisions vs Millwall so all teams are suffering the same poor decisions. 5 Quote

JacknOry Posted December 5, 2020 Posted December 5, 2020 Now we find ourselves with no defenders for the next game. I was told on here we didn't need another CB. Quote
Miker Posted December 5, 2020 Posted December 5, 2020 Buckley is awful at RB. Don't understand the thinking there. I actually think we can still win this. They've obviously been in the ascendancy since the goal, but we were still creating a few chances after the sending off. Quote
ben_the_beast Posted December 5, 2020 Posted December 5, 2020 Thought Toney grabbed Lenihan as much as Lenihan grabbed Toney. Silly to grapple in the area but it was extremely soft. Referee couldn't wait to give it that's for sure. Ayala is really going to have to Marshall the defense now. Feel for John Buckley in a right back. Gallagher is going to have to give him a hell of a lot of defensive support. 2 Quote

IMO, Lenihan hasn't been 'at it' for some time - a liability who needs dropping. Not sure Ayala is going to last the match - doesn't seem fully fit to me. Quote
Kie_BRFC Posted December 5, 2020 Posted December 5, 2020 Absolutely deluded if you think that’s not a pen. We’d be baying for blood if that wasn’t given for us 2 Quote

Blue blood Posted December 5, 2020 Posted December 5, 2020 Going to be a long afternoon. We are very short I defence. Don't get Buckley at right back - crazy decision. Going to be a very long afternoon. Quote
Bigdoggsteel Posted December 5, 2020 Posted December 5, 2020 (edited) Is a straight red a 3 game ban? Because that makes a huge difference. It certainly wasn't a straight red, whether you think it was a foul or not. Seems to me the Ref got caught up in the occasion a bit. Was very card happy from the start Edited December 5, 2020 by Bigdoggsteel Quote
