Bigdoggsteel Posted December 9, 2020 Posted December 9, 2020 Armstrong. How many chances does one man need? Doesn't matter where he gets it cos he's going to hit it. It's very self indulgent at this point and I know he is top scorer Quote

jim mk2 Posted December 9, 2020 Posted December 9, 2020 This is disappointing. We.ve played the better football but there's been no cutting edge. Soft goal too. Quote
Ianrally Posted December 9, 2020 Posted December 9, 2020 Looking at the stats on BBC you’d thing we were the best team, the problem is they don’t matter one jot. It’s all about sticking the ball in the onion bag. The only stat that counts. That’s the bit that Mowbray doesn’t get. Quote
G Somerset Rover Posted December 9, 2020 Posted December 9, 2020 I don’t know why any of us, including me, seem slightly surprised, as we’ve seen this script a hundred times it would seem under Mowbray. We simply won’t get in the top six under the bloke. 1 Quote
Bbrovers2288 Posted December 9, 2020 Posted December 9, 2020 Why have we been so hasty with our shots tonight, been in good positions and just blasted shots over the bar or weak as piss dribblers at their keeper. Armstrong the main culprit but all over the team. 1 point from 6 is now poor, taking all the joy of our late equaliser away after tonight Quote
Cherry Blue Posted December 9, 2020 Posted December 9, 2020 Disappointing result painful watching missed opportunities but shows where we really are this season.......mid table. 1 Quote
Bigdoggsteel Posted December 9, 2020 Posted December 9, 2020 Just now, Stuart said: There’s a school of thought that an away point at a top half team is a good thing. That is only true when analysing and consolation after a game. It should not be the target going in. Used to be the opposite ,bet the top teams and struggled against the lower half teams. I think it's clear to see we are actually a much better team now Quote
matt83 Posted December 9, 2020 Posted December 9, 2020 Same old rovers mid table makeweights. And I’ll let folk in on the worst kept secret. Under Mowbray it will be the same in the new year, the same at the end of the season, same next season and for however long the manager wants paying. Quote
BigBar Posted December 9, 2020 Posted December 9, 2020 Nothing added for the sub made by Bristol after 90th minute. So poor the officials in this league. Quote
jny Posted December 9, 2020 Posted December 9, 2020 Just now, Gavlar Somerset Rover! said: I don’t know why any of us, including me, seem slightly surprised, as we’ve seen this script a hundred times it would seem under Mowbray. Wood26 Posted December 9, 2020 Posted December 9, 2020 Painful game to watch. So many of them refuse to pass forwards, sick of seeing Kaminski tonight he must of had most touches of the ball. Woeful from Armstrong. Quote
benhben Posted December 9, 2020 Posted December 9, 2020 Crock of shit. plenty of the ball but never felt like we were anywhere close to scoring. 20 shots but all from long range. Douglas should be behind Bell. very very average. Elliot a class above, just needs some intelligence infront of him. 1 Quote
Backroom DE. Posted December 9, 2020 Backroom Posted December 9, 2020 Giving up on the playoffs or promotion at this point, not happening. Mentally this team simply isn't there. Frankly our defending was criminal all night and we could have been two or three down if Bristol City's players knew how to finish. I really don't care about lovely passes and fancy flicks and total football. I just want us to win matches and compete with the top teams in this division. It's never going to happen with the current manager. Not that Venky's will ever hire anybody better, as their track record is appalling in that department, but it's all so sad when you look at the team we have. Counting Bowyer's team at their peak, we've had two squads which I believe were and are capable of getting into the playoffs. Neither are going to, and it's all because our owners go cheap on the manager time after time. If they had truly learned their lesson then that is what would change, not splashing out £7m on youngsters or renewing contracts. 3 Quote
RTM08 Posted December 9, 2020 Posted December 9, 2020 Complete and utter dross. No cutting edge, no pressure on the opposition and yet again bottling it when we get anywhere near a decent position. This team has promise but will never be a good team with such a dreadfully outdated manager. 1 Quote
Doug Posted December 9, 2020 Posted December 9, 2020 Very disappointing, didn't deserve to lose. Will have to get over it, still believe that we are a far better team than last season. That's football for you. Quote
OldEwoodBlue Posted December 9, 2020 Posted December 9, 2020 Elliott man of the match Gallagher worst player on the field Rothwell first good game in a Rovers shirt. It turned to shit as soon as Holtby came off. Did Dolan touch it? Like I said half time, if we don't score they will do. Which brings me onto Armstrong... greedy bastard. Probably to blame tonight. Can't complain with losing. Was a good game to watch. Quote
superniko Posted December 9, 2020 Posted December 9, 2020 I’m sickened by this. Stinking night for Arma and Mowbray. Arma - nothing more needs to be said but he was awful tonight, doesn’t have a brain, not fit to lace Rhodes’ boots Mowbray - Playing Johnson for a full 90? Pulling Rothwell off? Can’t have Douglas either, he’s not good enough. I don’t rate Bell but I’m not sure he’s even an upgrade. I think we still have the quality to finish in the top 6 but we can kiss goodbye to automatics by not winning these games. Quote
jim mk2 Posted December 9, 2020 Posted December 9, 2020 Another failure against a top 6 team. Until we start beating them we haven't a hope of making the play-offs 2 Quote
Ulrich Posted December 9, 2020 Posted December 9, 2020 Well I will take solace in being half right as I went for 3-1 rovers. Quote
JPTSwindon Posted December 9, 2020 Posted December 9, 2020 Unlucky. We played very well, just one of those nights. 2 Quote
simongarnerisgod Posted December 9, 2020 Posted December 9, 2020 very disapointing to lose a game where we had so much possesion, bristol city are bang average as well which makes me even more annoyed, not a fan of this 4-3-3 either,we`re not liverpool who sweep forward like a tidal wave,by the time we`ve got the ball in the box the other side have ten players behind the ball Quote
booth Posted December 9, 2020 Posted December 9, 2020 (edited) Unfair to have lost the game, a draw would have been fair but questions have to be asked. Why did he take a midfielder off first? How did Gallagher manage to stay on the pitch so long in the second half? Why such late subs when we needed fresh legs and ideas? I thought generally the players played well but anyone could see the defence was tiring and his answer to that was to take Holtby off. We also play like I do at Fifa. Forward, forward, forward, backwards, forwards, backward, backwards, forwards, all the way back - the goalies hoofed it. There's a fine line between pretty football and pretty frustrating. Proudtobeblue&white Posted December 9, 2020 Posted December 9, 2020 The life of a Rovers fan under the loons and TM summed up in one game. Nearly team. 1 Quote
Backroom Tom Posted December 9, 2020 Backroom Posted December 9, 2020 Very frustrating, the commentators had us bang to rights with their critiques tonight, great football at times but soft underbelly Quote
