He’s streets ahead of Mowbray as a manager. Edited December 16, 2020 by Gavlar Somerset Rover! 4 Quote

Gone to seed Posted December 16, 2020 Posted December 16, 2020 Big Sam would laugh his cock off at the thought of coming back here, especially as he was shown the door by the same dolts who still (nominally and financially) own the place... There's more chance of Maradonna signing for us, than of the return of Fat Sam to this speak-easy.. 1 Quote

Complete footballing suicide suggestion for me. You won't get out of this division unless you can defend and Allardyce unlike Mowbray can organise a defence. Also I think Allardyce gets an unfair tag with his style of football. He showed at Bolton what he could do with flair players when he had the likes of Okocha, Djokaeff & Anelka, at Rovers he had Dunn playing his best football in a Rovers shirt. 18 minutes ago, JoeH said: I disagree. Tony Mowbray 1 season as a premier league manager, finished bottom. Mowbray 8 seasons in the Championship 2 top 6 finishes with 1 promotion. Sam Allardyce 15 seasons in the Premier League 7 top half finishes, highest finish 6th place and never relegated. Allardyce 3 seasons in the Championship 3 top 6 finishes with 2 promotions How on earth can anyone genuinely believe that Mowbray is a better manager than Allardyce is beyond me. The football would be horrendous though. The days under Allardyce were the first time I ever missed a game when I had a season ticket as there were other things I'd rather be doing. Effective, but awful to watch. Admittedly, I'd take a scrappy promotion. 1 Quote

What we have now is footballing suicide. Going absolutely no where for 3 seasons before the dogs of FFP start to bite and we have to start selling some of our better players and likely replacing them with inferior ones. CrouchingNunhiddenCucumber Posted December 16, 2020 Posted December 16, 2020 How has this thread turned into a debate about Sam Allardyce? We'll win tonight by the odd goal, we like playing poor teams. Quote

Clitheroe Posted December 16, 2020 Posted December 16, 2020 I wonder what combination of a back line we'll see tonight. Feels like area most susceptible to change.. probably a good indicator of why we've been so porous. Quote

Anyway, back to tonight and more confused thinking and tinkering from Tony 2 Quote
