That post had two totally opposite opinions. One, that getting Sam back would be suicide for the Rovers. Two that Sam is a better manager than Tony Mowbray. Which do you disagree with ?

You won't get out of this division unless you can defend and Allardyce unlike Mowbray can organise a defence.  Also I think Allardyce gets an unfair tag with his style of football. He showed at Bolton what he could do with flair players when he had the likes of Okocha, Djokaeff & Anelka, at Rovers he had Dunn playing his best football in a Rovers shirt.

Tony Mowbray 1 season as a premier league manager, finished bottom. Mowbray 8 seasons in the Championship 2 top 6 finishes with 1 promotion.

Sam Allardyce 15 seasons in the Premier League 7 top half finishes, highest finish 6th place and never relegated. Allardyce 3 seasons in the Championship 3 top 6 finishes with 2 promotions

How on earth can anyone genuinely believe that Mowbray is a better manager than Allardyce is beyond me.

We would certainly win more matches under Sam. The football would be horrendous though.

The days under Allardyce were the first time I ever missed a game when I had a season ticket as there were other things I'd rather be doing. Effective, but awful to watch. 

Admittedly, I'd take a scrappy promotion.

He'd have us around the top of the league, even if it took 1 or 2 windows do it.

What we have now is footballing suicide. Going absolutely no where for 3 seasons before the dogs of FFP start to bite and we have to start selling some of our better players and likely replacing them with inferior ones.

Every season we don't sell good players is one we should be pushing on as hard as possible.
