Blue blood Posted December 19, 2020 Posted December 19, 2020 And we are without centre backs. Who would have thought it? Make make no mistake about it, it makes today so much more difficult. Shame as today is shaping up to be a real opportunity for progress. Quote

I just think if Douglas has to play it's with a bit less defensive responsibility Problem is Bell can't win a header or a tackle. he has very little defensive know-how, all of which should be a given for a center half, even a bad one. AdamRochina Posted December 19, 2020 Posted December 19, 2020 Awful to play Johnson at CB .. Gallagher again out wide.. waste. Hopefully I eat humble pie but Im not looking forward to this game 1 Quote
SoldierMo Posted December 19, 2020 Posted December 19, 2020 He had jrc down as backup to Nyambe...he had lenihan williams and ahala down as main centre backs...douglas whos been without a game in as main left back bearing in mind no pre season...absolute disgusting management knowing their injury problems Quote
Blue blood Posted December 19, 2020 Posted December 19, 2020 1 minute ago, Bigdoggsteel said: Nobody predicted what happened Wharton. But the other 2 missing was very obvious! And after Travis and Dack we really should be aware long term injuries happen. The problem is that going with so many injury prone defenders means that we have no room for error, no margins for any other long term injuries in defence. It's basically having a strategy that hopes nothing bad/unexpected happens and having no room to manovere when it does. 1 Quote

G Somerset Rover Posted December 19, 2020 Posted December 19, 2020 Gallagher at LW again is infuriating. Can only hope Butterworth gets up to speed soon and/or Dack returns and it forces him to bench the lumbering donkey. 1 Quote

He wins headers and can tackle, his movement does not have to be as intense, as in midfield. With the choices that we have, a reasonable option. Is that explanation enough. What experience is he going to get in non league football ? 1 Quote

Yes bur we knew all three first choice centre halves regularly miss games. We got lucky with Wharton making the grade. 5 Quote
CrouchingNunhiddenCucumber Posted December 19, 2020 Posted December 19, 2020 Though we can't get much worse at the back Johnson coming in won't be great for Lenihan's form. Could be a long afternoon Quote
