The problem is Mowbray will not learn from his mistakes, because he doesn't believe they are mistakes.

TM is starting to sound like the rumbled villain in Scooby Doo at the end of every episode.

"If it hadn't been for those pesky teams trying to defend against us and make life awkward, we might have won the game!"

(Swag) "How dare they Tony. Very unsporting. Never mind here's a new 5 year deal to ease the frustration."

😂. This is Mowbray and Swag every time get to about 1-2 points from the play-offs.

Yes.

He was ordinary as opposed to being out and out garbage.

Probably worth about one tenth of his £5m fee. At a push.

He would be better in a front 2. Clearly where he is paying now isn't doing him any favours.

Time will tell. I reckon we will at least recoup what we paid for him.

Again I won’t be bothering paying for this, just don’t have the desire for it these days, he’ll probably keep picking Douglas.

imagine it will be one of those games where we get outplayed but come out with a late winner, followed by another couple of decent results then a long downward spiral, and repeat

The players aren't doing enough to break down the deep blocks we are coming up against. Dack did more in his cameo the other night than Holtby has done in weeks. We are pedestrian and predictable when teams park the bus. Dack and Brereton will give us another string in our bow.

We've struggled against teams that "park the bus" going back to League 1 days. TM has no idea how to overcome it.

Playing a couple of genuine wide players in their correct position would help.

Agreed, but also better quality from those on the field would help.. Nyambe got in some good crossing positions the last game and was very wasteful.

It isn't just a case of it being easy to break these blocks. Stoke did the same thing to Boro the game after us. Wba did similar against Liverpool and got a point. You need your quality players on the field to unlock these defences.

Fully expecting a tame 1-0 defeat tonight. We will dominate possession but create little of note, Arma will have about 6 shots to no avail. I really hope I’m wrong and something miraculous happens. Apart from a 4-2 win when Rhodes scored 3 we have a pretty grim record at Huddersfield....although a certain Nathan Delfoneso managed a goal there...I suppose anything can happen!

you need a plan b,whatever it might be,mowbray has`nt got one because in his warped tactical mind,we swept away 3 basket case sides in wycombe, derby and coventry,he thinks we are the finished article and now it`s patently obvious we ar`nt he can`t work out another way to play

I dont see what there is to suggest that we could ever receive 5m+ plus for Gallagher, plus coverage of a very competitive wage.

His problem is that he is nowhere near good enough for us to justify remodelling our team around to get the best from. Armstrong and Dack are because they keep getting the goals. His best spell was in a 2 under Coyle whose side was very attacking (costing us even more goals than we concede now) and even then, in what was his best season ever (and hes certainly not a kid) he registered a 1 in 4, bog standard goal return, nothing remarkable. Best bet IMO is as you say dont play him wide as it doesnt do him any favours, but just as a second striker off the bench, but even then, does he have the attributes and do we have the right service to play him as a target man? Probably not on both counts. Strange and incredibly lazy signing.

Will he drop Douglas so we can defend those attacks.  Doubt it.

His problem is that he has never managed to address the left back position, neither of the left backs at the club will be capable of doing that.

Bog standard players go for big money these days. It's a long list. He's still young enough, English , will improve more, has played a lot of games at this level. £5 million gets you very little in English football for the last few years.
