Torgeir Posted December 29, 2020 Posted December 29, 2020 Too many straight lofted balls going forward. Think we might need Dacks imagination in this one. Huddersfield are there for the taking in the second half. Rusty Bell, rusty Brereton and an out of form Holtby on the pitch at the moment. COYR! Quote
bazza Posted December 29, 2020 Posted December 29, 2020 Two equally good footballing sides cancelling each other out. Good game so far. 2 Quote
yellowsubmarine Posted December 29, 2020 Posted December 29, 2020 Huddersfield seems to play/pass like us abeit much faster and with a purpose. We are painfully slow. And we are not winning all the second balls, which makes it more frustrating. Taking out Holtby and Johnson for Travis and Dack, this is probably our best 11. We need to start clicking soon and put away those chances. Quote
joey_big_nose Posted December 29, 2020 Posted December 29, 2020 Totally even match. Better finishing from either team and they would be ahead. I would say we need to change something to get on top. Need more legs in midfield for me. Johnson is way off the pace and seems injured. Bring Davenport on for me, or maybe Downing. It's not really a strength game, its about covering the yards and picking passes. 1 Quote
Backroom Silas Posted December 29, 2020 Backroom Posted December 29, 2020 The space is there on the counter today. Supposedly our forte. Can't be any excuses about a team parking the bus. It's there to be won if we play our cards right. 5 Quote
Wood26 Posted December 29, 2020 Posted December 29, 2020 That’s not a bad half. Huddersfield better then last couple we have played, we have had a few chances. The win is absolutely there for us today though, if we don’t win this one, then I finally conceed that something needs to change. I am pro Mowbray, and this game is exactly what we need to win, no excuses of parking bus, let’s get Dack on and do it. I think we will. Quote
Paul Mellelieu Posted December 29, 2020 Posted December 29, 2020 Second best against a nice-looking team. Again, we need to do more in midfield. 1 Quote
matt83 Posted December 29, 2020 Posted December 29, 2020 We're so ponderous. Very slow in the transition. 1 Quote
simongarnerisgod Posted December 29, 2020 Posted December 29, 2020 **** me can we not have next goal wins🙂 and how do you make a fantastic prospect like harvey elliot look bang average,i swear mowbray would nullify messi and ronaldo if he got hold of them 1 Quote

Tugay-is-God Posted December 29, 2020 Posted December 29, 2020 Not been good enough for a while now, something's gotta change. Get Dacky on! Quote
davulsukur Posted December 29, 2020 Posted December 29, 2020 Hudds pressing us high up the pitch. Something we were doing at the start of the season but seem to have stopped doing for a while now No idea why, we looked much better when we did. 2 Quote
Ossydave Posted December 29, 2020 Posted December 29, 2020 Not a classic but seen worse halves this season! Think Ben has made a difference both going forward and covering back, definitely eases the workload of the left back. Armo definitely should have scored, got a feeling he will do second half too. Imagine we'll see a few changes at 60 mins including Dacky. Bit nervous though about that, dirty team this lot so far..... Quote
philipl Posted December 29, 2020 Author Posted December 29, 2020 Rovers making too many bad decisions when we do have possession- even in deciding when to close players down and make runs. The whole side apart from Kaminsky look desperately short on confidence. Calling out for Dack. 1 Quote
superniko Posted December 29, 2020 Posted December 29, 2020 Plenty of space on the pitch, which would suit Dack, be nice to see 45 mins from him. Maybe it’s a stretch though. Gutted for Trybull, from what I saw against Stoke/Brentford (before being pulled by Mowbray), he’s far superior to Johnson, more tempo and pressure on the opposition. Rothwell had a good half and Nyambe solid too. Bell isn’t playing like Carlos but still an improvement on Douglas. 1 Quote
Bigdoggsteel Posted December 29, 2020 Posted December 29, 2020 Armstrong has to score that. Not easy,but.... Quote

I guess it's just opinions though, eh. They are indeed. It's not everything they say, but, as an example, right at the tail end of last season when we needed something daft like three straight wins and about four other teams to implode, at full time they still went on about how the play-offs were still an outside chance. Their opinions obviously, I just think on occasion they're in a considerable minority no matter how you divide up our fanbase. I guess at times it just feels like they state Club-approved sentences rather than what the most honest and popular assessment actually is. You're point about Warren is very fair, you do notice sometimes Neil trying to very gently stop him saying something! 1 Quote
Boroblue Posted December 29, 2020 Posted December 29, 2020 After stoke in particular and Sheffield Wednesday it’s refreshing to watch a team want to play. 2 Quote
WacoRover Posted December 29, 2020 Posted December 29, 2020 One of the few times this season we haven’t won possession... not sure how to interpret that... Methinks Dack in 2nd half would be a difference-maker. Quote

Abuse? Good grief. As for his goal record, Forrest Gump once heard the word ‘run’, Arma similarly heard ‘shoot’. He hasn’t looked up once... all season! 2 Quote
roversfan99 Posted December 29, 2020 Posted December 29, 2020 Armstrong is our only threat, he is obviously going through a dry spell but hes still our only real threat. His run before that brilliant save was superb, as was his unselfish pass to Elliott who has been ineffective, as has Brereton and Rothwell. Midfield has been very quiet again and they are targetting our left side having noticed our weakness. Very dull game really. Quote

I think we stopped doing it when everyone started parking the bus against us as it didn't really achieve much. But Hudds are ripe for the pressing game. The team that wins this will be the one that presses better. But they look much fitter than us in midfield at the moment which kind of undermines a pressing game. So we need to do something about that. Really think it's one for Davenport to have a go at. 1 Quote

But I agree, Dack getting the whole second half would be good. Quote
Exiled in Toronto Posted December 29, 2020 Posted December 29, 2020 Very even half, could easily have been 2-2. But with Holtby, Rothwell and Elliott invisible we are lacking in creativity more than usual. Personally thought the challenges on Trybull and Brereton (who is now apparently called Breerton) were both red cards, and neither got a yellow! Quote
