Are we at the stage yet when Luton have realised we can’t score, so they might as well have a go? Yep. They have bossed the game for the last 20mins. Edited January 30, 2021 by Fraserkirky 2 Quote

G Somerset Rover Posted January 30, 2021 Posted January 30, 2021 No shots on target and no first half goals yet again. You want tips on betting Mercer - that’s the current safest bet in English football. Quote
West Yorks Rover Posted January 30, 2021 Posted January 30, 2021 Just now, Ewood Ace said: We scored 3 in the first half against Wycombe in the first home game of the season. Since then we have only mustered 3 home goals in the next 13 first halves at Ewood, the last one coming on December 2nd. But it's not surprising to anyone who watches us as we just seem to go through the paces, there is a real lack of any urgency to assert ourselves early on. Mowbray's management summed up there. 1 Quote
roversfan99 Posted January 30, 2021 Posted January 30, 2021 Another terrible half. Armstrong not on form and we are solely reliant on him for a goal threat. When he links play or drifts wide no one else gets into the box and it isnt good enough, Brereton will never score goals with any regularity for that reason. Luton the better side. Dacks exclusion from the starting line up bizarre and this box midfield nonsense seldom if ever works. Quote
Darrenbot Posted January 30, 2021 Posted January 30, 2021 No goals in the first half again,we should all bet the house on that at the bookies next game.It makes you wonder what Mowbray says to them pre match, just go out and do nothing lads i have a ton on us not scoring. Quote
booth Posted January 30, 2021 Posted January 30, 2021 Luton are as bad as teams get at Ewood and still we're making it look like hard work. No doubt Lutons manager will be now telling them what a soft touch we are. 2 Quote
joey_big_nose Posted January 30, 2021 Posted January 30, 2021 Not really sure what we should do. Luton look poor, pitch is worse, but the way we are playing has delivered quite a few chances..... Reckon maybe straight swap of Brereton for Dolan and maybe Downing for Dack. And go 4231 Kaminski Nymabe. Lenihan. Branthwaite. Douglas Travis. Rothwell. Elliott. Dack. Dolan. Armstrong ? Quote
The Mighty Chaffinch Posted January 30, 2021 Posted January 30, 2021 Very very frustrating. If Armstrong takes that early chance then it’s a different game...instead we’ve been subjected to another style over substance half where Sluga could have been doing a sudoku. There’s no energy to get into the box from midfield runners when we get into promising positions out wide. I’m hoping for a change in the second half but I can’t see it Quote

Wouldn't want to be one now either, cos Armstrong is being very wasteful. I don't think we would be any worse off with SG central and Armstrong on the left. Quote

We have played bad teams this year, they aren't one at all. Quote
simongarnerisgod Posted January 30, 2021 Posted January 30, 2021 predictably predictable by us,we`re far to easy to defend against, just bang in two rows of four and all we can muster are square passes, ffs get in behind and get the defenders running backwards, anyone who`s played the game will know it`s their pet hate, nothing worse than having to run backwards trying to stop a bloody winger getting past you 1 Quote

There was a moment when the ball went into the box and Brereton was behind two defenders instead of running to where the cross was going to come in. Out of three people he was last because he didn't even move for it. If he scored more we could ignore his failings but the guy can't pass, shoot or has any positional sense. He'll burst forward, do a one-two with someone then kick it to a ghost. But they were all jobbers this half against a very poor Luton team who are full of mistakes themselves. 1 Quote

BigBar Posted January 30, 2021 Posted January 30, 2021 Need a win with the results going for us. Massive second half. Let's grind it out. Hook Ben and Downing, Downing been ok but too slow and laboured. Quote

The Mighty Chaffinch Posted January 30, 2021 Posted January 30, 2021 Luton are well coached and know their jobs to a tee. They also look dangerous on the break. Much worse teams have rocked up at Ewood this year. We’ve got the better individuals but.... 1 Quote

Thanks to the manager Armstrong has zero competition for a first team place and we have no sub worth bringing on. 1 Quote
