Mattyblue Posted February 19, 2021 Posted February 19, 2021 I’m no planning expert, so if anyone that is wants to put my mind at rest to what’s currently lodged with Ribble Valley Council. https://www.ribblevalley.gov.uk/site/scripts/planx_details.php?appNumber=3%2F2021%2F0175 Quote

Sarcasm aside, this is concerning. Quote
Mattyblue Posted February 19, 2021 Author Posted February 19, 2021 (edited) The plot thickens. Looks as if they want to build new consolidated Senior/Academy facilities on the existing Academy site as they are flogging off the Senior Training Centre site for housing? https://www.ribblevalley.gov.uk/planningApplication/32735?fbclid=IwAR3eiJtGgMqK04wYuSPsxx8roAwE2MFbtZ-RZNsFzU8y-YKEU_PjqR--Srk Edited February 19, 2021 by Mattyblue Quote
AllRoverAsia Posted February 19, 2021 Posted February 19, 2021 I await the spin on this. Consolidation I suppose, asset strip to claw some cash back. Maybe Bollywood needs it. Meanwhile any known connection to the agent? Like in Venus. Where was all the new high tech scouting stuff and the analysts stuff installed? Quote

Mattyblue Posted February 19, 2021 Author Posted February 19, 2021 Good point - @J*B @K-Hod @Herbie6590 can you create a new Brockhall Development thread out of this one with today’s posts? Quote
Craigman Posted February 19, 2021 Posted February 19, 2021 Was there not talk of a new training pitch at Ewood. Maybe part of long term plan. Redevelopment at Ewood too? Quote
AllRoverAsia Posted February 19, 2021 Posted February 19, 2021 How many pitches can the Junior site handle? It's down in a bit of a dip in the land IIRC. Quote

Popular Post LDRover Posted February 19, 2021 Popular Post Posted February 19, 2021 Expect the usual suspects on FB to say it's a marvellous gesture from the Venkys to realise the housing shortage in the UK. 15 Quote
Dreams of 1995 Posted February 19, 2021 Posted February 19, 2021 (edited) This is asking if it is to subject to an environmental impact assessment or not Edited February 19, 2021 by Dreams of 1995 1 Quote
Hoochie Bloochie Mama Posted February 19, 2021 Posted February 19, 2021 Is that what a 'screening opinion' is, an enviromental assessment? And is that requested after planning opinion is already given? I have no idea on these things. Also, I thought Brockhall had been reg's as a community asset or something like that, and couldn't therefore be sold for anything other than sporting purposes? 1 hour ago, Mattyblue said: The plot thickens. Herbie6590 Posted February 19, 2021 Posted February 19, 2021 I’ve Tweeted some thoughts from BRFCS - trying to think of a benign explanation... - obtain planning permission, increase value of assets in the balance sheet, window dressing exercise - frees up some equity from the estate...move the STC to another site ? BUT...more likely...sell off part of the land, consolidate into smaller site, cash inflow reduces debt owed to VLL. This is what I feared would happen 8 or 9 years ago TBH. For the club to not issue a press release suggests they hoped it wouldn’t get picked up or they don’t care what we think. 4 Quote
Rogerb Posted February 19, 2021 Posted February 19, 2021 The agent is a town planning consultant with a long list of major builders as clients. Quote
tomphil Posted February 19, 2021 Posted February 19, 2021 Wasn't this type of thing predicted once Waggot swooped in ? Venus as well. Venkys don't need the cash so who's driving this on ? Always said if and when this ownership ends there'll be nothing left one way or another. 3 Quote
Mattyblue Posted February 19, 2021 Author Posted February 19, 2021 @callumrovers did say earlier today that ‘several announcements’ out of the club were imminent... 1 Quote
Richard Oakley Posted February 19, 2021 Posted February 19, 2021 According to google: A screening opinion lets you find out whether a proposal needs an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) before making a planning application. A request for a screening opinion will normally include: a plan identifying the land. 1 Quote
LDRover Posted February 19, 2021 Posted February 19, 2021 Coincides with Waggott's supposed 'retirement' as well Quote

Stuart Posted February 19, 2021 Posted February 19, 2021 Very very concerning. This is one of the Crown Jewels. ”Where are all the ‘we aren’t in debt to Venkys’ supporters now?” That said, I’d like to see the names on the deeds. We are being royally ****ed over. 3 Quote
