I don't think anyone is to blame. Brutal stuff Agreed, it's horrendous, but as J*B pointed out he'll have spent so much time compensating for his bad leg his good leg will have been under increased tension. So 3 games in 6 days is stupid IMO. 4 Quote

Wing Wizard Windy Miller Posted March 12, 2021 Posted March 12, 2021 So sad for Dack. If that's his other knee gone, his career at a higher level has pretty much gone with it. On another note, the lack of player consistency is infuriating. No doubt this is down to the constant chopping and changing/pissing around with tactics and positions but not one player can put 2 or 3 decent, consecutive performances together. 1 Quote
Gamst Posted March 12, 2021 Posted March 12, 2021 So dissapointed for Dacky. Going to take a huge deal of determination to get back to fitness. 3 games in 6 days is too much for a player who hasn't looked like he's back to full fitness yet. Especially after being out for so long with such a serious injury. We were chasing the game but the season is pretty much over so keeping him on was unnecessary. In his post-match interview Tony said that player welfare is the priority, but Dack has been mismanaged here. 1 Quote

Just a freak and very unfortunate incident. 2 Quote

Bigdoggsteel Posted March 12, 2021 Posted March 12, 2021 Didn't Ings come back from 2 ACL injuries? Quote

You need the MRI to confirm it, but it’s always the case. Yeah, they do a relatively simple test by moving your leg and checking resistance in the knee. At the hospital they knew straight away with a good degree of confidence that it was the ACL. Only ended up having an MRI a month or so after to check for secondary damage & that confirmed it. I did mine in August 2019 & was lucky to be back playing casual 5 aside by January 2020. Only had a couple of months easing back in before covid hit. Just walking the dog & walking around the house I can get aches & pains in both knees. Doing the ACL in both knees is going to really limit his playing career. Feel so bad for him. Quote

windymiller7 Posted March 12, 2021 Posted March 12, 2021 Just feel sick tbh. Actually don't care about the result. It all seems so avoidable with better management. From the pitch to Mowbray being desperate for results. You've also got to wonder what advice our so called medical staff have been giving recently. If they're saying certain players need more rest then why has this been ignored, if they're not, then why not given the amount of recurring injuries we're getting! 1 Quote

An impact that might not have caused if it wasn't in such a stressed state. An ACL on the other knee is a known risk when returning from injury to the opposite ACL. Second ACL injuries six times more likely after reconstruction, study finds -- ScienceDaily Quote

Common sense dictates 3 games in a week is too much for a guy who isn't fully fit and has been out for a year. Quote
SBlue Posted March 12, 2021 Posted March 12, 2021 Hindsight goggles working overtime here lads. You don’t always have to have one up. Its an acl. It can happen any time. 9 Quote
tomphil Posted March 12, 2021 Posted March 12, 2021 That's the kind of challenge you throw yourself in when you are frustrated. Every right to go for it and i don't attach any blame to Raya. Legitimate calls for a pen though they've been given. Tactics and formation all wrong yet again in the first half, looked so much better after the break with the changes. Although they let us play a bit more and looked to counter. A draw of 0-0 or 1-1 should've been the result and it would've been a credible one. Quote

AllRoverAsia Posted March 12, 2021 Posted March 12, 2021 Dacks injury was caused by a side on impact from Raya whilst deliberately ''fouling'' Dack. Nothing to do with fatigue, being overplayed, the pitch, climate change or why birds fly south. Its that simple. I am not saying that Raya had intent to injure, but he did have intent to ''foul''. 2 Quote
Blue blood Posted March 12, 2021 Posted March 12, 2021 One of the key points needing highlighting is it wouldn't be as damaging for the team (still gutted for the player and devastating for them though) if there was adequate cover. That just compounds the loss for the team. As it is Dack does t have any like for like or similar replacement, in style or quality. And as for Travis he'll have to fight his replacements for space on the treatment table... Quote

RV Blue Posted March 12, 2021 Posted March 12, 2021 Could it be a natural weakness in his ligaments as well as overcompensation? Quote
magicalmortensleftpeg Posted March 12, 2021 Posted March 12, 2021 No need to blame anyone for the injury. Dack has been back for 3 months not 3 weeks. This is the first run of starts he’s had in that time and he’s been getting back to his best recently. Was anyone saying before the injury that Dack should have been taken off as a precaution..? Awful season, almost worse than the relegation years given the expectations. 3 Quote
