Popular Post glen9mullan Posted August 11, 2021 Popular Post Posted August 11, 2021 (edited) You can't compare Mowbray to Kean, Kean was just Vile, The only likeness is media manipulation, as with the sky interview where he seemed resigned his time was up, which had many quarters in football and in our supporter base feeling sorry for him. Then, this season its been about how we have no money, and him literally begging people to buy armstrong. He took the unusual step of talking in depth about Obafemi, despite him being another clubs player. The sceptical side of me would ask , is this his ready made excuse if the deal falls through that we couldnt afford his wages/transfer? It would certainly strengthen his position if we have parted with 12 and got no-one in? Surely no manager can have the finger pointed at them if we go down due no investment maybe his thought process? Mowbray has served his purpose, a steady pair of hands to stabilise the sinking ship. His finest hour at rovers is taking us back up, but on wages alone, it would of been a disaster had we not gone straight back up, given the gap in quality we had over the opposition. However in the championship, we have not kicked on. He talks about a journey, but its like he keeps forgetting something so goes back to the start of the journey without ever reaching the destination. This COVENTRY link in the boardroom and management is unhealthy. I don't believe Waggott has the balls to recommend TMs sacking. Its no different now to Shagnew, and Kean. They knew together they were bullet proof, divided they would fall. As I said last week, I don't expect an awful lot this season. The ground is beginning to look old, the training facilities are no longer the state of the art, other clubs have evolved and not only passed us, but are now lapping us. The squad is lower championship/higher reaches of Division 1. The management is passed its sell by date and predictable. The owners are clueless, and the fans have left in their thousands. The memories are all we have, and top flight football in the current climate is a near impossible mission Edited August 11, 2021 by glen9mullan 28 Quote
Popular Post Gavrover Posted August 11, 2021 Popular Post Posted August 11, 2021 I don't remember any player thanking or praising Kean for anything (except the prick Orr). Armstrong has just praised Mowbray quite passionately in his leaving message. Can't compare the two. Be clear I do think he needs to go but he isn't or ever will be worse than Kean. 11 Quote

tomphil Posted August 11, 2021 Posted August 11, 2021 Mowbrays young counter attacking side put Keans expensively assembled keystone cops to the sword not long before he departed. The gap on the pitch was noticeable although we know TM can look good against weaker opposition and manager. That was one of those nights but Keans team would never have produced a performance like that whilst he had a hole in his arse. Quote

Kean never brought in his own choice of CEO to insulate himself. Kean never then tried along with said CEO to flog off the training ground in a similar scam to the one they tried (and failed with) at their previous Club. Bonkers indeed. 3 Quote
Torgeir Posted August 11, 2021 Posted August 11, 2021 Obafemi will earn good money wherever he ends up. Is Idah totally out of the question on a perm (was it always only a loan option?) now that Armstrong has gone elsewhere? Quote

The guy sounds like so many men from my childhood; he comes from my home. It's therefore far more disappointing when he lets me and my team down. I appreciate that for some, if not most of you, Kean was far worse. I think for me it's the disappointment added to everything else. Kean was the more obviously villainous but then I very quickly knew he was. Mowbray appears a decent honest guy but then he lets you down again. Edited August 11, 2021 by gumboots Quote

That rat Kean never got the boot he resigned on his own terms, after waging a public war against the fans. He stabbed the previous manager in the back, stabbed the likes of Nelson and Salgado, to mentioned just 2, in the back and brought his mates into the club, who then took turns at destroying Jacks legacy, destroying local businesses and destroying this once proud town. I'm almost lost for words we have some fans who would have that ******* rat over Mowbray, a manager who is simply out of his depth. I need a drink..... Who said they'd have either as manager? Quote
tomphil Posted August 11, 2021 Posted August 11, 2021 We really can't say Kean wasn't well protected here he didn't need to bring anyone in they were already here. Hellfire he even hired a body guard and a load of rent a thug doorman from Bolton/Manchester to weed out vocal aggressors in the crowd ! 1 Quote
Popular Post Boroblue Posted August 11, 2021 Popular Post Posted August 11, 2021 One of the main qualities of humble is not having to high an opinion of your own importance or value and one of the qualities of integrity is recognising and owning up to your own mistakes. Mowbray would not qualify under either of these. Could I add this is an observation not a criticism The statement I made about Kean was not to generate a who hates Kean the most discussion but to emphasis that as a fan base we have set a very low bench mark for our managers. We should be asking is Mowbray as good as Hughes or Souness and the answer is no. Is he better than Kean who isn’t. Armstrong praised him he’s out and up. The rest of us are still living in Mowbrays limbo land of a catastrophic football philosophy of journeys, formations and long losing streaks where style comes before results. Rather than compare he is just not good for Blackburn Rovers Football Club and never will be 13 Quote
roversfan99 Posted August 11, 2021 Posted August 11, 2021 The only transfer that seems to have been anywhere close to being done is for an injured winger with 10 minutes of senior experience, that will now be delayed. Quote

Diminutive striker has a few appearances in PL (Jackson at Norwich) but with negligible scoring record. At least Jackson cost nowt whereas despite the smoke and mirrors being applied to the Southampton deals it's clear Obafemi is valued in 7 figures. 1 Quote

On the way out the ground i stepped into a huge pothole outside the ground. I have bad knees so I fell and was in unbearable pain. I couldn't stand up for 20 minutes. Some nice man came to my aid though Quote
