Why would he come back here?

Agree that he is class

City had Tosin out on loan for a couple of seasons, why not H-B? He might even be enjoying his time here for all we know, Tosin did.

Of all the things we have to moan about at the minute I wouldn’t put this very high up the list. We all laughed at the thought of  Simon Garner lifting his West Brom shirt to the Burnley fans after scoring to reveal a Rovers shirt and yet this is a much more serious issue. I say fair play to the lad. A very close friend of mine was in the Leppings Lane end in 1989 and still suffers trauma to this day because of what he witnessed. All avoidable.
Who cares if a young lad got booked after scoring a goal and revealing a tribute shirt to an empty stand? Certainly not the families of the 96 and all the other affected people.

Context.

Chippy?

My brother was there that day with him too.

No mate it was a lad I used to work with. An off duty Lancs cop whose head was properly fucked up by what he witnessed that day and the police’s role in it.

He’s never fully got over it but thankfully he’s at least able to socialise a bit these days. He’s not attended a professional football match ever since that day though.

If Boring Tony gets the boot, I reckon the best person we could get in is Ainsworth, he'd be like a breath of fresh air

to Rovers' fans, the whole club would be given a huge lift with his enthusiasm for the job.

And he must have something about him, besides that, if he can get Wycombe Wanderers into the 2nd Division.

Tbh when the Mowbray Successor thread started, I was looking at other people in front of GA but knowing the way Venkys do things, I would be over the moon if Ainsworth came here.

Harwood-Bellis is significantly better than Tosin.

They were trying to sell Tosin with those loans - putting him in the shop window. They'll have first team plans for Harwood-Bellis - he's a class act.

Flirting with relegation might have woken someone up either in the boardroom or in India that Mowbray needs to be sacked.

As it is, safety means we've got him for another season of agony

If this season’s target was top 6 then he has already failed and wheels will be in motion regardless of this result.

If this season’s target wasn’t top 6 then we have bigger problems than Mowbray.

Very lucky at the end but I'm just relived to have got to 50 points which I think will guarantee safety this season.

Kaminski back on form to make some crucial saves. The defence with the exception of Harwood-Bellis was awful the left side pairing of Douglas and Branthwaite was an aberration but thankfully 2nd half Derby did seem to try and exploit it.

The midfield 3 of Travis, Holtby and Johnson were a disgrace and totally dominated by Shinnie all 3 of them looked unfit and uninterested. Rothwell when he came on was magnificent and totally changed the direction of the game.

Elliott was poor tonight and I though the goalie should have done much better with his strike. A good header by Gallagher for the equaliser, what will it take for Mowbray to realise that he needs to be in the box for crosses all the time not just for set pieces. His work defensively when tracking back was awful. Armstrong although he didn't score caused their 2 centre backs no end of problems we really didn't get at them enough to many side ways and backwards passes instead of getting at them it wasn't until Rothwell came on that our first instinct was to go forward.

Derby played some decent stuff but the epitomised everything that is wrong with the modern football team. First goal given away by marking zonally and then not having anyone on the post. The second goal a big centre back whose clearly not comfortable on the ball trying to play his way out. They also lined up with no proper striker and despite having a lot of the ball didn't create much instead just passing sideways and backwards, it was only when they put an actually striker on and put the ball in the box that they looked like creating something.

I'm amazed Rooney hasn't come out of retirement to save his team - he'd still be the best player on the pitch.

He's clearly a poor manager though, which amuses me.

Harvey is getting plenty of respect for his action and good for him. He is a Liverpool player who has done a fantastic job for us this year. He will have learned a great deal, but he has given us a great deal.

It will also show the top clubs that their talent will not be wasted coming to Rovers. We will always need this pipeline of loanees. We might as well have the best and brightest young talent rather than journeymen.

Poor performance but the result is indeed the important part so tonight, job done, any miniscule chance of relegation now gone, but obviously its results as to why we need to change the manager.

Thought the midfield 3 was appalling, Holtby again is miles off the pace, as was Johnson, if either of the pair get a new deal it would be a joke. Travis was really poor too. Rothwell was an improvement when he came on.

Gallagher was naturally like a fish up a tree again on the wing, repeatedly clumsily knocking the ball out of play or back to Derby, but a fantastic header for the goal. Elliott was ineffective for most of the game but got the winner after a lovely bit of skill, you cant argue with that contribution really.  Armstrong was a big threat and gets so many chances (none of which tonight he was selfish in shooting with) because of his pace and his anticipation, which separates him from most, but even allowing for a superb performance by Marshall, his finishing really let him down tonight and he should really have had a couple of goals to his name.

Defensively, Harwood Bellis was very good, Branthwaite less so, I think Nyambe defensively was caught out numerous times and has not impressed recently, Douglas I thought was ok and a great delivery for the first goal. Kaminski in goal made a couple of superb saves, although possibly could have palmed Lawrence's free kick further away which led to them hitting the post.

I thought Derby were the better team overall really, we were appalling in the first half and Shinnie ran the game, whilst Roberts, Jozwiak and Lawrence all looked a real threat. We improved second half and the game was more even although we clung on in the end with Kazim looking dangerous.

Glad we got the win to secure safety, cant believe we would be in this position start of season.

Taylor HB was superb today. Really good performance, shame about the players who we own.

I been pro Mowbray all season, even when it went south I was on here defending him, give him until end of season hoping he could turn it around. I now accept that he cant, and although I stand by my defence that he deserved time, those who I argued with I apologise to as you are proven right, there is not enough time, we have been awful with the squad we have, and players I considered to be "key" are only going backwards.

Happy with the result, but hoping for changes in summer.

Already seen a few "where are all the boo boys now" posts on Facebook.

Can you imagine the utter lack of self-awareness and credibility that you would have to have to sit down, after the run we’ve been on, after the season of failure we’ve had, and type that into a comment box on Facebook?

These people are either genuinely and unfortunately stupid, or they are sat laughing hoping to bait someone into responding.

Either way, it’s just really really sad. The idea that some people are really hoping that Mowbray remains in charge next season! Frightening.

Dear God! What is wrong with these people?

One swallow a summer doth not make.

Am I glad we won? Of course I am. I don't ever want us to lose, & I certainly don't want us relegated. But I certainly haven't changed my stance on Mowbray.  That won't change even if we win all our remaining games. I've wanted him out for 2 years & still do.

On another day we lose that one & I seriously think that the ref thought he owed us one after his last performance at Ewood. That was as clear a penalty as you're likely to see. I'd be fuming if we weren't given one for a similar foul. If that's given, then the likelihood is it'd be 1 win in 16. As it is, it's 2 wins in 16. Whoopidoo!

Mowbray out! BOOOOOO (there you go, here I am!)
