Exiled_Rover Posted April 24, 2021 Posted April 24, 2021 This is Tombola Tony at his finest, but this midfield does actually work if he just asks Evans to sit and lets Rothwell get up and down the field. Quote

riverholmes Posted April 24, 2021 Posted April 24, 2021 (edited) It makes no sense to continually drop Bell out of the match day squads and then bring him into the team. He's already struggling and now his confidence must be very low, making a good performance even more difficult. Then, add the fact that Gallagher is likely to be his main protection against opposition winger and full back - and you have a recipe for difficulties and, invariably, Bell will get a lot of blame. In the last match, Holtby, was dropped out of the match day squad and Mowbray said it was to give young lads like Buckley a chance to be on the bench. Yet, Holtby is back on the bench today. His commitment and confidence will no doubt have been affected negatively. Though, I suppose, given his age, injury problems and his likely departure, he probably will not be affected as much. Also - there are 5 central midfield options on the bench, if you include Bennett. No striker (Dolan and Elliot aren't strikers). These matches are a perfect opportunity to give game time to McBride or, even, one of the other reserve forwards who have done very well this year. Edited April 24, 2021 by riverholmes 1 Quote
booth Posted April 24, 2021 Posted April 24, 2021 I'd have thought he'd have had a few youngsters on the bench today, but no, same old Mental Mowbray. 1 Quote

Also - there are 5 central midfield options on the bench, if you include Bennett. No striker (Dolan and Elliot aren't strikers). It's clearly very bad management. Mowbray must have McBride or Burns or, even, Butterworth in there. Never mind whether they're the finished product, we need players in their best positions. Good ol'Tone is doing Bell a favour today - putting him in the shop window before his summer release. As you say the fact that he' not played in 2021 is disgraceful. Quote
G Somerset Rover Posted April 24, 2021 Posted April 24, 2021 Another set piece goal! Long live the journey. Quote
bluebruce Posted April 24, 2021 Posted April 24, 2021 (edited) Terrible defending from Huddersfield there. If you concede a set piece to us, you know you fucked up. Edited April 24, 2021 by bluebruce 6 Quote
Stuart Posted April 24, 2021 Posted April 24, 2021 We are winning and Mowbray is on his feet angrily barking instructions. Strange that he looks so much more at ease when we are losing. 6 Quote

bluebruce Posted April 24, 2021 Posted April 24, 2021 Wow, Armstrong gets it on a plate and passes it to someone who has a tighter angle. Where is that sense of camaraderie when he has absolutely nothing on but fancies a shot anyway?? 1 Quote
