Rovers need:

- To beat Bournemouth (H) and Birmingham (A)

And 2 of the 3 below:

- Middlesbrough drop points in any of their 3 games (i.e don’t get 9 points) against Cardiff (H), Stoke (H) or PNE (A)

- Luton lose against both Fulham (A) and Reading (H)

- Sheffield United pick up a maximum of 3 points from QPR (A) and Fulham (H)

Update…

Rovers need:

- To beat Bournemouth (H) and Birmingham (A)

And 2 of the 3 below:

- Middlesbrough drop points in any of their 2 games (i.e don’t get 6 points) against Stoke (H) or PNE (A)

- Luton lose against both Fulham (A) and Reading (H)

- Sheffield United pick up a maximum of 3 points from QPR (A) and Fulham (H)

What odds are the bookies giving ?

We’re a 7/1 shot following that Boro win (12.5% chance). Take out the margin bookmakers add in and we’re probably 9/1 true price (10% chance)

That’s just to make the top 6

Cheers, that’s about right. We’ve got a slim chance at the moment but I wouldn’t be putting any of my hard earned on us.

Really don't think we should concern ourselves with anyone else at this stage.

Just win the next 2.

Will be enough IMO.

Surely we could win the next two and still fall outside the playoffs. We need snookers really.

We could, but I don’t think we will. If we win the next 2 we’ll be 6th IMO.

Looking at all 3 of those teams they are as inconsistent as us, so it's unlikely they'll win their last 2.

Rovers getting 6 points is the most unlikely though.

If we could keep the same team and build on it next year it wouldn't be so disappointing but we all know a rebuilding job will have to be done. In two games time half of the first team is off - three defenders, a midfielder and our top goalscorer (and Khadra). And that doesn't include loanees like Giles, Zeefuick, Poveda who have barely made an impact.

We're left with the following (first teamers).

Kaminski (G)

Wharton (D)

Pickering (D)

Ayala (D)

JRC (D)

Buckley (M)

Edun (M)

Travis (M)

Johnson (M)

Hedges (W)

Markanday (W)

Dolan (W)

Dack (AM)

Gallagher (S)

I think Carter might feature next season.

Someone get on the phone.

Is it a good or a bad thing that this has been announced a day before we want them to beat Sheffield United?

I thought Johnno's deal expires in the summer?

Apparently his assistant is going round telling all their players out of contract that he's taking the Stoke job in the summer and can offer them all more money 😉

Why? Swapping him for Mowbray would be like for like.

Perhaps.

I'm just expecting a Judan Ali style appointment.

He's a step up from Mowbray.

I'm not sure about that, I don't rate Warburton, seems more like a sideways move to me. I suspect a QPR fan would presumably say the opposite, and a neutral would have them on par, at a guess.

Has similar strengths and weaknesses to Mowbray too.

I think we could do worse to be honest, but not an inspiring option.

Already we are behind in the queue, unless we've actually already got someone lined up which I think is very unlikely.

QPR have now made a decision and an announcement and it seems likely they will now be scouring the market, interviewing people and testing the water. Options like Farke will be getting spoken to and be coming off the market.

All good for the 'who will manage us' brigade who will presumably use Venky ineptitude as a reason why we should continue as we are.
