Don't know about you guys but Tony's making some bloody strange substitutions.

Even by his standards, yes.

Gally off for Davenport, Buckley shoved up front when he looked knackered.

A bit later gives up on that and takes Buckley off for Butterworth presumably so we can keep with the pressing game.

Then swaps an attacker for a defender, presumably giving up on that so we can shore up and soak the pressure.

He doesn’t really have any options

Edit: Going 3-5-2 🤪

3-5-2?

Far too ambitious. 5-4-1 with our new Chilean CF playing on the right of the 4. And a 21 year old 5'6" lad playing upfront on his own.

Brilliant.

We could do with a Rothwell special, haven't heard his name much today.

Nearly got your wish.

I don't know, I often remarked that Allardyce would build a human wall in front of the net and allow the opposition to take turns blasting the ball at them, if he could.

I'm yet to see a FK hit the man lying behind the wall.

Well they're not going to aim there when a man is lying down covering most of that area. I think that's the idea, deterrent rather than blockage. Then they have to aim over the wall and the keeper has a better idea of where it's going.

(I'm not agreeing with it btw)

Glad to know super Tone still knows his formations. Don't sell the training grounds Venkys, get the management team to watch them train

What a miss from Rothwell! Superb pass to play him in from Butterworth. We never make things easy for ourselves.

He was trying to play in Diaz.

What an excellent move that was, so unlucky. Killer pass from Butterworth. He’s a long-term prospect.

He would be, if he didn't have a horrendous injury record for a young player. I hope I'm wrong because he looked excellent when he came on today.
