There is a huge Lancashire derby match taking place today if anybody hadn't noticed.

Morecambe against Stanley is the second biggest game in the county today.

I read there is another one in Lancashire too between two no mark, insignificant clubs.

Agreed, make up your mind. They are either a "Big Club" who have massively underachieved or a nothing small time club who are about to achive somthing incredible.

The Accrington Stanely owner is kicking off again. This time at the local council. They've ordered that Stanley's bar and function room at the ground close immediately due to neighbour complaints of loud noise late night, and they said that it didn't get planning permission initially. 

It brings in a lot of money for the club so understand why Holt is going mad, but what I don't know is the back and forth that got them to this place. 

Not good for either party though.

Essentially the club built the function room without the correct consent. I think Holt and other people at the club thought a retrospective planning application would sail through when the local council saw what a good setup they had developed.

Local people have an acceptance of living near to a football ground and the noise, parking etc that comes with that. From what I gather they have a massive problem with the ground becoming a pub/ function suite all weekend and the noise and problems the night time economy brings.

He is right Andy Holt. 

If you live next door, you would expect some noise and the club is trying to grow a football club and its off the field income. 

Also why move near a football club if you don't want noise. I live not far from the ground and people park on my street. I ain't bothered. 

I have email the council slamming their decision and couple of councillors I know to try to get that decision over turned and work with the club.  I have attended functions at Coyley bar and they were really good.

Still a joke of a decision by our local council and hopefully it will change soon so its can been used as a function room for weddings and birthdays. Bring the club revenue in. Why moved next to club if you dont expect noise. Ffs

@chaddyrovers. Read this with your morning brew. There's clearly more to it than just blaming the council.

Holt’s a bit of a dick and shown that openly in the last year or so.

He may feel he has a legitimate gripe with the council but if you have been using a bar without the right permissions these things happen, hopefully they can resolve it though.

I don’t venture to Whalley often but I did enjoy the Salvage Yard there and they’ve just closed up for almost identical reasons, neighbours complained about noise and it turns they didn’t have the right licence in place.

Guess what residents there were pubs on every corner in residential areas like that not very long ago, the heart of the community.

I know all this thanks. But MP's and councillors have been to Stanley many times. Couple of people who lived next to dont want them to used function room cos of the noise. Holt is trying to grow the club  and improve the income of the club. Plus help grow the local economy and employ people. That's should be important here. 

Which Rovers would do this and grow the off the field income

All true, but if he doesn't have the proper permissions in place, he leaves himself wide open.
