JacknOry Posted January 19, 2022 Posted January 19, 2022 Carter made his debut for Pompey last night and by all accounts did very well, many fans even naming him MOTM. 2 Quote
Oldgregg86 Posted January 19, 2022 Posted January 19, 2022 Bit of shithousery at Warrington v marine 😂 he later did a dramatic dive after a ball trickled well wide and continued winding the fans up after the whistle. The prem has quality on the pitch but you’ve got to love the lower leagues 😂 2 Quote
matt83 Posted January 22, 2022 Posted January 22, 2022 What the hell is going on at Oldham. Founder members of the premier league now bottom of the football league 7 points off safety. Quote

pentelrobot Posted January 25, 2022 Posted January 25, 2022 Sam Burns scored twice for Scunthorpe tonight. Two goals in four minutes. 2 Quote

arbitro Posted February 23, 2022 Posted February 23, 2022 From next season ITV will have the EFL highlights from QUEST. This will include the EFL's cup competitions. It would be interesting to know how much they have paid for them. https://www.itv.com/football/articles/itv-to-broadcast-efl-highlights-from-next-season Quote
JHRover Posted February 24, 2022 Posted February 24, 2022 Interesting. Amazed he's dropped down so low but maybe he is desperate to manage again. Success or bust for him now. 1 Quote
frosty Posted February 24, 2022 Posted February 24, 2022 That's extremely random. I had wondered whether his absence from the game over the past few years was because he didn't want to drop down to Championship level.....then he rocks up in the bottom half of League Two. Sure he could have done a lot better than that. Wish him well anyway, I'll always stick up for Hughesy after the job he did here. 1 Quote

There’s a lot of potential at Bradford if he can get it right. 1 Quote
Mattyblue Posted February 24, 2022 Posted February 24, 2022 Oh definitely, and if they were in L1 you could kind of understand it, but 15th in the fourth division, be some ‘journey’ that… Quote
JHRover Posted February 24, 2022 Posted February 24, 2022 Its just very strange. I mean I get him dropping down a level to rebuild his reputation, I get that Premier League and even Championship sides might not have been too keen on him and try and get back to where he was. But League Two? He'll be 59 in November, barring a complete miracle they aren't going up this year so have next season to get through at least. He's perhaps got 5 years or so in the tank as a manager, yet will be spending at least the next 18 months in the bottom tier going to Harrogate and Sutton. Yes Bradford have potential but realistically they are at least 3 years from getting to the Championship even if he works miracles. By the time they've got there or above he will be nearly retired. I expected him to get an international job somewhere or perhaps in the US. Quote
Tyrone Shoelaces Posted February 24, 2022 Posted February 24, 2022 I’d still gamble on him doing a better job than Mowbray. 4 Quote
SuperBrfc Posted February 24, 2022 Posted February 24, 2022 Wow. I had to read that twice to make sure. It's an odd move for him to go so far down the football pyramid. Excellent appointment for Bradford though. A few on here felt there was no chance he'd come here to replace Mowbray. I think this shows we could have easily got him back if there was any desire from the club to do so. 1 Quote
chaddyrovers Posted February 24, 2022 Author Posted February 24, 2022 Hughes has been out of football management for such a long time, his stock has gone way down. Shame he made some choices he did. But I hope he turns them around and get them promotion next season. Wonder if Mark Bowen will join him? Quote
chaddyrovers Posted February 27, 2022 Author Posted February 27, 2022 Mark Hughes lost his first game in charge but he improve them and next season they will be promotion favourite. He will have big pull in attracting good quality players to play for him. Glyn Hodges has joined him as number 2 there Quote
bazza Posted March 23, 2022 Posted March 23, 2022 I see Phil Brown has been appointed manager of Barrow. I thought they could have done better by appointing Tony Mowbray. Ah well, not to worry..... I like Barrow. I hope he gets them playing well enough to hold their own in that league. Quote
Claytons Left Boot Posted April 30, 2022 Posted April 30, 2022 Just watching MK Dons thrashing Plymouth 5-0 at Home Park. Look a very assured outfit and, the young lad up front, Scott Twine has bagged four of them. A very good player on this showing. 1 Quote
Backroom DE. Posted April 30, 2022 Backroom Posted April 30, 2022 Is that the 3rd or 4th time in a row now that Rotherham have bounced straight back up from League 1? The definition of a yo yo club at this point. Quote
