Popular Post Dreams of 1995
It's just not a good look getting rid of Peter Jackson, whatever the positive to the financial sheets In the grand scheme of things, is the cost of ditching them so close to the season outweighed by the thousands more it will generate? Probably not. It certainly won't be a deal big enough to make a substantial difference What it does do is provide an even greater gap between Club and town. Something that has been growing ever wider since the day they darkened our doorstep. The only solace one can have is in the words "one day"..........
JHRover
Is there now any connection between the Club and town centre? Granted a longstanding sponsorship deal with a jewellers in the precinct was a stretch but at least a connection. That's one thing they've been good at, step by step reducing the club's footprint and presence. Driving into Ossy from Church yesterday and there's a huge Accy Stanley /Sky sponsorship board. Times are a changing and Rovers seem quite happy with that.
JamieUK
I know that an enquiry to Blackburn with Darwin council was made about putting ads up around Ewood (digital/paper) showing discontent at the club/board/owners. The question was asked would they allow it. The response that came back indicated they would as long as what was created didn't breach their advertising policy. You'd think that if the club had any kind of relationship with the town and who runs it, it would have immediately been shut down...

It wasn't the short, fat, cunt of a Geordie variety. It was about 8 foot long, black all over and slithered through the grass. I shot it with both barrels. It was also a slimy snake. B16Rover
Has he eaten a tub of peanut butter or something before this. What's with the lip smacking/gurning? If we are never let down with requests for funding, and the owners want to continue funding the club with a higher transfer budget than last year - can anyone quantify how much grass seed a club would use and what that + 30% cost increase would look like to be the first concern he raises?
Popular Post imy9
I’m infuriated by this interview. i am usually calm about most things but does he think that we, the fans are thick? So apparently we don’t get all the money for transfers in one go… does this not work the other way to Steve? Basic maths, Wharton 18 million, Raya 5 million, Ashley 2 million, Kaminski 2.5, Gally 1 million- I have tried to give the lowest amounts, that’s circa 28 million income. Also two of those were our highest earners in Gally and Kaminski. we have signed two strikers for max 1.5 million and everyone else is wages on top. I have ignored our goalie as we recouped all the money. So please Steve where has the 26 million gone? The owners have not funded us this season- the sales have kept us going. Also our wages have gone up… how??? We have signed players on low wages and gotten rid of the high earners! Unless this is a massive ploy before we sign a glut of players… 2 or 3 he says!!! A goalie, a left sided player and a forward. No midfield? No striker? This is an infuriating interview and I stopped 13 mins in. waggott out, Venky’s out

roversfan99
He is just a stooge of Venkys, he will say exactly what makes them seem as supportive as possible. Pointless listening to it really. Same soundbites, they clearly arent reinvesting in the squad but its his job to make it seem like they give a shit.
chaddyrovers
Waggott says that Suhail Pasha has become COO of the club and overseeing commercial operations. He mentions that there is funds available for transfers and he has to asked the owners for the money. Also mentioned that 10k was the target for the ST sales and that include 18 games ST's, half season ticket sales and other ticket promos. Also mentioned that top half finish is the target and that there is possible marketing and commercial opportunities in the Far East with us signing Yuki Ohashi mentioned that the clean Ewood Park after some fans concerns about it and our groundsman says its the best Ewood Park pitch during his 42 years here.

cesus
This bloke is simply a man willing to chomp down on turds for his paymasters. He is dangerous to the future of the club as everything stagnates massively around him. He talks about transfers being paid in installments our way, but surely that is respricated??? If not we are in serious trouble if we have to settle all our purchases in full and have no line of credit. No other club in the country will be talking about the price of grass seed increasing ... old Stevie can't miss that chance. Jeeez!
