I'm not sure of the relevance of you highlighting 'transfer fees and associated costs' here when we were discussing the highest paid director.

I agree it is almost certainly Waggott, and that makes the most (only) sense. But not quite correct to say it is 'definitely' him as there is  more than one director on the payroll and in theory any one of them could be the highest paid.

It would help if anyone knew what two of them looked like - have you any idea what Rao and Gupta do, have they ever been to Ewood, would you recognise them?

Why all the sudden wailing and gnashing of teeth about the vastly overpaid scourge on our Club that is Steve Waggott?

Has something happened we didnt already know about?

Considering all the alleged cuts it's had very little effect on the overall wage bill which is only slightly down year on year

It should be the box above.

Of course it's Waggott. Why would the other 2 take money out in UK Pension contributions?

Not a clue who either are or whether they have been to Ewood Park in recent times.

Mahesh Gupta hasn't been a director here since 10th July 2012 https://find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/officers/Fl8jwAKhLtt3TlQcE7rGoKTMf7Q/appointments

Gandhi Babu hasGandhi Babu has been here since day 1 of Venkys buying the club.

M Sreenivasa Rao been here since September 2023.. https://www.rovers.co.uk/news/2023/september/12/rovers-appoint-new-director/

Perhaps they're UK tax payers and are taking advantage of tax relief on pension contributions.

It's more a concern of the huge YoY increase in his salary & pension conts.

This leads to questions around a conflict of interests and how he/the directors are incentivised.

If you had significant incentives within your contract of employment to reduce costs and make a profit, would you potentially have a reason to 'accidentally' scupper any transfer deals that could be quite expensive to the club and negatively impact your own income? Quite the conflict indeed.

Amazing, isn't it, that we managed to do that two years in a row and we all wondered whose fault it was and if the club were covering something up.

The Maguire and O'Brien deals, could have been the difference between, a profit bonus being generated or not, yet we as fans will be left to wonder forever.

Was pressing the wrong button, really an innocent mistake?

If it was a genuine accident, which I'm sure only a diminishing number of the deluded actually believe, then the obvious way the club/owners/management could address that would be to re-use the money supposedly sanctioned for those players in later transfer windows.

They didn't do that - the money disappeared into thin air. Very convenient. A 'mistake' is much easier to believe if the club then rectifies it by reallocating the money and puts it into the squad. A 'mistake' that saves a lot of money which then never reappears and goes with the pattern of cutting costs at every turn might not be a 'mistake' but actually a blessing to those overseeing the cuts.

I'd love to see the reasoning behind the bonus.

Would anyone be surprised if it were for cutting spending, 'unfortunate' January events?

There is no smoke without fire.

For that to happen once, is unfortunate, but twice. To add insult to injury to then try to have the fans swallow the crap they came out with, just tells us what they think of us really.

I could be wrong here, but I think I read somewhere that Eustace was promised the Maguire money, if he kept us up and when this was pulled, he started to look elsewhere.

That does seem to make sense now.

I didn't wonder who's fault it was, I knew exactly who was to blame and why.

I called it out at the time and I stand by my assertion.

I’m haunted by this image of Waggott after those dropped pints from the last 3 games just rolling back in his big office chair chewing on a massive Havana cigar with a huge tumbler of whisky at the ready musing to himself “Job done no chance of playoffs and promotion now. Phew!!” Nonetheless unlikely wins today and at Pompey could just have him sweating a little 🤞

acting under the orders of chief venky stooge pasha

"india has been on the phone steve,do all you can to stop this eustace fellow getting in the play offs, you know anything can happen in them and our paymasters can`t afford to have us in the premier league, they`ve also instructed me to tell you and that wannabe  message boy gestede to stop employing decent head coaches, they`re a nuisance keep coming to the boardroom asking for this and that, anyone would think they wanted to manage in the premier league, well thats not happening here,so make sure you appoint a right old dud next time,oh and don`t even think about renegotiating any contracts,it`s far to risky to have good players running around out there, next season the target is to finish in the bottom six ,bloody promotion hunters,it`s not the done thing here and you know it,make sure it never happens again, succeed and there is a nice fat bonus for you,by the way,you need to keep an eye on that gestede,he`s more slithery than a burmese python, right get on with it and don`t let me have to tell you again that this club must never succeed at anything on your watch

Waggott should have been out of the club years ago. He still clings on after failure after failure on and off the pitch.

It wouldn't surprise me if he gave it to himself in the knowledge that Venkys have absolutely no clue, or care, about the club.

Overheard a couple talking at the match Saturday saying Waggot just spent 20k on a new office for himself , looks like he’s going to be here a while

Unbelievable if true.

Should have used half of Andy Cole's Newcastle signing on fee, not Club money.
