It's embarrassing. More for them than anyone else.

they`ve been extremely lucky to get the gig here,no way would swag and his fellow cretins survive at a propely run club, swag is going to be here for the forseeable, picking up his wildy overpaid salary for as long as he wants, only way he`s leaving is if he snuffs it (he`s obese with an unhealthy palor so it could happen) or venkys sell the club( highly unlikely)

Hopefully both things happen soon.

A totally bizarre and almost unbelievable situation we have where the club is actually now boasting about restocking its own shop with its own kit so its own fans can actually buy them.

Ridiculous.

This after doing everything possible to encourage people to stay away from the club shop including shutting it during the week.

I've always thought the ultimate aim for Waggott with the Roverstore is to have it only open on matchdays with it being an online retailer the rest of the week.

It's closed on Monday. Is it worth opening if the business isn't there should it open just for a few customer(yes I would of those who would go in on Monday to buy or look around, but I understand their decision as business decision)?

It's closed on Monday presumably because of lack of footfall.

The lack of footfall is presumably because the retail offering is lacking.

The retail offering is lacking is because <fill in the blank>...

One of the reasons for a lack of footfall is the clubs insistence on the move to digital tickets. I would go in and buy them and have a browse in the shop. I still go in to pick away tickets up (there is an option to have them posted) but many don't. In my view this has contributed to the closing of the shop on Mondays and reduced opening hours for the rest of the week. I think the club would spin it another way but the coincidence of the two is there to see

They got rid of the programme because it wasn't 'profitable' - guess what some things don't actually make money at a football club, but you do them anyway to offer a service/a vibrant experience for your supporters.

Reading those programme posts from Herbie in the Nostalgia Thread tells me more about what we've lost under this regime than anything else. A club that back then wanted to look after, and do all it could for its fanbase. We were in it together. This regime sees fans, a shop, a stadium as all an inconvenience.

waggot.his disciples and venkys despise the fans,it`s crystal clear

The Riverside is usually less than half full. It is worth opening if the ticket sales aren't there or just keep opening it for a few hundred fans?

Of course it's worth keep opening cos demand is from fans and ST sales. Different argument to keep a club shop

They've already done it for the Darwen End, Blackburn End upper, town centre shop, matchday programme - all done away with in the name of 'progress' aka cost cutting.

The town centre shop was good but when costs go up like renting the premises and sales don't go to make viable to keep it going.

Tried it on with the training ground and academy too only you've to have a bit more about you to outmaneuver that situation given the obstacles to overcome there.

That was stupid and clueless decision. Called it out at time and didn't support it.

Where does it end Chaddy?

Put all the fans in the BBE lower and shut the rest of the ground? Only play during the day to save on putting the floodlights on? Not have a reserve or ladies team because it isn't making us money?

Now you being daft.

Once again you and the club are looking it from the negative side - if something isn't working just get rid or shut it down to save on costs. Same with your favourite FFP rules - if in doubt just sell some players and cut the wage bill.

I'm one that affected by closing the club shop on Monday but I can understand the decision from the club cos of the lack of footfall and people buying online cos people don't have time. You can buy simple online in 5 mins nowadays. Much easier and simple.

There's another side to it all - GROWTH - try to get bigger, better, more fans in the ground, more footfall, enhance the commercial operation, get more people down to Ewood, get more tickets sold etc. etc. All of which requires a plan, effort, initial outlay and none of which are consistent with Waggott's way of doing things.

Shirt sales and replica Rovers kits have improved again and fans keep buying.

Stadium foods in the concourse is poor and has been for years.

I think 4k walk on fans is terrific. Plus comes down ST prices and people want to pay or not. Whether they afford it or make it enough to games to win for them.

Despite all the crowing about new stock of kits, they haven't bothered with the 3rd kit in infant sizes. Wanted one for my 4 year old daughter who's now playing football for ages now. Well done you simpletons, probably would have been one of the most popular size ranges for the 3rd kit.

Being billionaires with vast personal wealth as well as a billion dollar corporation someone should have advised the Rao's to buy a premises in Blackburn town centre.

Use as a club outlet and if it's outside the shopping centre rent the upstairs as a flat.

Needn't cost the club a penny it would be a personal asset and literally pennies out of their pocket but would help the club, fans and profile.

If they did they would probably describe it as an agricultural property.
