roversfan99 Posted September 9, 2021 Posted September 9, 2021 (edited) https://www.brfcs.com/magazine/football/match/716858/blackburn-luton Looks like we can still barely cobble a squad together for Saturday. The team and bench look piss poor and an average Luton side will fancy their chances. Our game plan has to be to get at the incompetent Bell. Would probably go: Kaminski Nyambe Lenihan Ayala Pickering Buckley Travis Rothwell Poveda Gallagher Dolan Subs: Pears, Khadra, Butterworth, Clarkson, Davenport, Magloire, another kid chosen at random. 1864roverite Posted September 9, 2021 Posted September 9, 2021 The outcome of this game will be how Luton approach it. They will string 5 across the back looking for a point or a breakaway win. Rovers have repeatedly struggled to break such teams down and Saturday won’t be any different! A boring struggle of a game 0-0 1 Quote
roversfan99 Posted September 9, 2021 Author Posted September 9, 2021 I don't see much attacking quality in either side, a nil nil might not be a bad shout. Goals in short supply. Quote
G Somerset Rover Posted September 9, 2021 Posted September 9, 2021 What happened to: ‘Johnson, Rankin Costello & co will be ready after the international break’?! Quote

I saw an account share a view of Bell vs Pickering and their starts to the season based on their stats. Bell was ahead in nearly every metric but Pickering leading on chances created and crosses. He’ll be out to prove a point no doubt but you’d hope Nyambe would have his number 1 Quote
roversfan99 Posted September 9, 2021 Author Posted September 9, 2021 (edited) If Bell provides us with any worries, then we may aswell pack up now and accept relegation. Bell is not only a poor attacking player, but a horrendous one on one defender too, these metrics in the main tend to be worth very little. It would be worth getting Poveda to run at him as much as possible, mind you it will no doubt be Gallagher wide right, and Poveda central. Edited September 9, 2021 by roversfan99 7 Quote
simongarnerisgod Posted September 9, 2021 Posted September 9, 2021 luton are a physical side who don`t mess about when it comes to moving the ball forwards, normally id`e be dreading facing a side like that, they were our worst nightmare, however with our new found steel at the back im`e confident of a **** game but a 1-0 victory, moggadon to bring dolan on in the last ten minutes and he bags the winner Quote
rigger Posted September 9, 2021 Posted September 9, 2021 I would target their left-back areas with Poveda. Bell may have something to prove, but that is because he is awful as a footballer at this level. 2 Quote
tomphil Posted September 9, 2021 Posted September 9, 2021 If the manager has actually learned anything from Bell the last few years he'll get somebody running at him and into the space he leaves behind. Therefore i expect he'll stick Gallagher back on the right and maybe even double up to stop their flying left wing back!!!! A tough evenly matched afternoon in store i reckon. 1 -1 Quote
simongarnerisgod Posted September 9, 2021 Posted September 9, 2021 tayo edun injured knee ,van hecke not match fit and khadra also injured!!!!!!ffs you could`nt make it up🤣,lets sign a handful of injured and unfit players to complement an already thin squad,f*****g monty python is our club 3 Quote

G Somerset Rover Posted September 10, 2021 Posted September 10, 2021 My prediction for tomorrow is come 5pm we'll be bemoaning that striker not signing on the dotted line on deadline day. That and somehow Amari'i Bell will resemble a half decent full back against all odds. 1 Quote

4000Holes Posted September 10, 2021 Posted September 10, 2021 BBC Sport Lancashire @BBCLancsSport “I said to the Chilean head of football, I'll deal with the situation & if you want to complain to FIFA do that” To add to Mowbray's lack of management skills, his inability to set teams up, his lack of understanding bringing substitute on at the right time and his poor communication skills which results in a total lack of enthusiasm, we can now add his appalling diplomatic skills. Does anyone know what he is good at? 2 Quote
