Living in Wheelton, I see all sorts of affiliations.....Rovers, North End, Bolton, City....there's even a dingle in the village.

So there's plenty of competition.

Can I just say when we grew up in wheelton there was never a dingle in there! what has become of the village if it lets a Dingle  reside there 😅

Grew up in Wheelton and there, Brinscall, Withnell, Abbey Village, Heapey etc always traditional Rovers strongholds. Although not very big places so we aren't talking thousands.

Like everywhere else though the demographic changes young locals move away, older fans are lost or can't go anymore. People from Manchester, Bolton way move in and other kids just grow up hanging off the armchair teams.

Rovers weren't up too much when i was a kid but most lads from those villages followed them. Then the Jack era began and everyone and their dog was suddenly Rovers mad.

From Waggots interview which has surfaced in the last hour-

Asked if he felt the pricing structure at the club, with the cheapest ticket for a Category A+ match £36, was affordable to the people of the town, Waggott responded: “We’ve tried to make it so that the season ticket prices are what we base everything on.

“Adult prices are £17 per ticket and senior citizens work out at £12.

Which is basically a big screw you to anyone who can't get to all games because of work or travel commitments.

It's also hardly a policy to encourage people to try coming to Ewood again (or for the first time).

That dingle will be ‘Churchie’.  He never actually attends at t’Turd.  He moved to the village to live with a woman but she dumped him a few months later.

We've tried to make it affordable to everybody then in the next breathe we price individual games according to away fanbase.

So yes FU if you don't or can't commit.

It's a big FU to any fans who can only get to a few games a season.

I don't know what the laws are with regards to 'game bundles' but looking at the fixtures the 2 'Christmas' games which are Barnsley on the 29th and Huddersfield on New Year's Day should be £40 for both games and something ridiculously low like £6 for kids tickets.

Try that instead of bundling or promoting some midweek end-of-season dead rubbers against London clubs.

Bundles are a waste of time, the FF minutes show they never sell more than a few hundred.

However, £10 a ticket for the Wigan night game just before Christmas the other year led to our biggest home turnout (Oxford aside) in years… so something similar hasn’t been attempted since, obviously.

He’s a complete moron, an overpaid moron, and an unbelievably thick moron.

In the article he bangs on about bringing everything back to the season ticket:

“We’ve tried to make it so that the season ticket prices are what we base everything on”

Only 3 clubs in the league have a more expensive base ST in the league (see article below). Yet he’s claiming this is as affordable as possible.

What do we get in return…

1) The pitch is a shambles

2) The stadium is a complete mess

3) Shit food, shit pints, with no changes or innovation in match day experience

4) Ridiculously expensive walk on prices

and most importantly:

5) A depleted squad with barely a penny spent, and shocking shocking quality value for money.

Been through it all so many times before, looking at how many extra fans you’d need to justify £100 drop etc. Along with the endless things they could do to improve match day. Yet every year it’s £400 and flat lager (if you queue on 25 mins you might get it)…fill your boots.

That's because they bundle shite games together. People often have to decide which game to attend over Christmas. Bundle them both. Also I presume this still enables you to charge the away fans full whack.

£10 for either of those games would work but to increase the crowd but they would lose the away crowd income as they would also need to be charged a tenner.

Most games are ‘shite’, it’s the second division!

The 29th December game is Barnsley on a Wednesday night , so still isn’t the most attractive.

Make NYD £10 a ticket, Hudds will bring double (if not more) their expected following at that price, with extra pints and pies on top, so what are we missing out on really?

All moot, because I imagine it will be Cat A and up to £40 for a game taking place when everyone’s skint…

Don't get me wrong be happy with Huddersfield at £10 a ticket. Anything 'attractive' to try and encourage extra attendances.

Our previous 'promotions' have been based on trying to increase low profile games, low income games which don't appeal to the imagination.

Price the Preston game sensibly and aim to get 15k home fans on. Plus their rabble on their annual get out of South Ribble day pass.  Aim for 21k+ and get a few back in for a local derby.

Then hopefully the team shows up and it helps re-engage a few more, these are the games for this approach. Just make it £20 in all areas outside of JW center/upper and get the BBE and Riverside full up again.

Oh yes there's no chance of it happening it makes for too much sense and ticks too many boxes.

Option B suits these lazy barstewards and the police better.  30 odd quid a ticket, hardly any walk ons and probably less of them lot than normal.

verdict 15/16k  with a third of them away fans, easy day for all at the club and the OB.

Why not do 2 game bundle for the Barnsley and Huddersfield homes for 25 pounds for adults and Kids under 16's a fiver. Plus a discount on the next home game against Boro or a discount on a shirt..
