jim mk2 Posted January 19, 2022 Posted January 19, 2022 Ten minutes in and we're no better then he has to change it Good interception by Gallagher then wastes it!!!

At right back alone we've had: Nyambe JRC Gallagher Buckley Lenihan There will be others, that's just recently off the top of my head. The only one in that list that's remotely capable is Nyambe. Think you're spot on. Seems like he just thinks it's a mix of attack and defence, so any non-GK should be able to handle it. 1
Theaxe15 Posted January 19, 2022 Posted January 19, 2022 Tonight’s game has shown how desperate we are for another midfielder. He clearly doesn’t trust Davenport, instead shoe-horning Gallagher into the formation which destroyed any of the attacking promise we could have had and restricted Rothwell, who was too aware of his defensive duties to play his normal way. 5
G Somerset Rover Posted January 19, 2022 Posted January 19, 2022 Indeed. I said it the other day but we need Bradley Johnson…just three years younger! Somebody to crunch some tackles in, smack a few heads together and who wouldn’t have put up with tonight’s ‘performance’. 3

Might be ideal for Pears you don't have to handle the ball outfield 1

I don’t want to see Johnson again. Bump from yesterday. As feared. Next signing better be a tasty midfielder. A Sam Morsy type.

neophox Posted January 20, 2022 Posted January 20, 2022 Think Hedges will be signed up for the weekend to be in squad for Middlesbrough. Also would like us to go for Callum Styles at Barnsley in this window. Travis and Styles would great with Rothwell.
chaddyrovers Posted January 20, 2022 Author Posted January 20, 2022 I am hoping that we can make a centre midfielder signing before the deadline closes. No idea on Hedges whether he would be good signing or how he would fit into the team if we can closing in on him as a signing
1864roverite Posted January 20, 2022 Posted January 20, 2022 Not here why my early am post was removed it was my take on the game

Healey or Maja and a Batty type for midfield with a good engine. 5
Armchair supporter supremo Posted January 20, 2022 Posted January 20, 2022 We absolutely need a new senior striker in. like now! I wonder with Gallagher just signing a new contract whether that effects how much funds the venks are willing to release for another new centre forward

Any chance of shifting either Johnson or Davenport out should be looked at as well (although, very unlikely to get rid of either), if they aren't going to be used/not good enough.
G Somerset Rover Posted January 20, 2022 Posted January 20, 2022 (edited) I think Mowbray thought he could get away without Brereton for a game so there hasn’t been real urgency behind bringing in a true CF. That one game has now become two and we suddenly look toothless up top even with Brereton in the side! As you’re all saying, we need somebody in ASAP - and not another one of these wide forward types. Edited January 20, 2022 by Gavlar Somerset Rover!
