If we have a problem with our stretching regime in training, it may be transfered into a lack of proper stretching before a sub comes on. I am not saying that is a fact, but we do have an awful lot of hamstring twinges. doubt he would have picked up our bad habits in 3 days just bad luck i guess.

Dreams of 1995 Posted January 22, 2022 Posted January 22, 2022 Problem lies in that we have a £5m striker who is fit but you can’t trust The next 2 games will be tough. We need some goals from somewhere. I’d be tempted to play Khadra and Butterworth because Gallagher is clearly not the answer 7

all you need is duff Posted January 22, 2022 Posted January 22, 2022 Am I the only one who thinks there is something not quite right about this Markanday injury? Feel like he was never going to be ready until next season but we wanted to make a big deal out of giving him his debut and have then made up an injury. Maybe I’m still stuck in the Kean days mentally

ben_the_beast Posted January 22, 2022 Posted January 22, 2022 Just a really horrendous bit of luck. Not fair for us but most of all, really unfair on the player.
Popular Post JHRover Posted January 22, 2022 Popular Post Posted January 22, 2022 We should consider refusing to play the Middlesbrough game. Hull did it and got away with it, Burnley too. I am absolutely furious at the situation with Sky moving the game to Monday and in doing so causing us to lose Brereton for 2 games rather than 1. If I was running Rovers I would have told Sky to go and speak to Chile and if they couldn't resolve it then we wouldn't be playing Monday night. This is (supposed to be) a serious business here with game changing rewards on the table and we are supposed to just accept losing our star player for an extra game due to some idiot at Sky HQ deciding to put us on Monday night? The Markandy development is a blow but lets not overreact. He hasn't been part of the squad that has got us here and we don't know if he is even ready to contribute this season. Mowbray himself was desribing him as a young player to polish up and develop over a few years so seems premature either way to pin our promotion hopes on him and his fitness. It is a shame yes and quite concerning that it has happened so soon into his time here but I would be more worried if we were losing the Breretons, Travs, Lenihans or Rothwells given their contributions. This brings me on to my next point - that there is still ample time remaining this month to make other additions to address the scenario so lets see how serious we are. Even without this injury I would sincerely hope further business was going to happen because those two signings alone are unlikely to be sufficient and now one is out long term and the other isn't match fit. I'm worrying there is a lot of negativity creeping in here. Everyone is going to get injuries, everyone will lose an odd game, we are still firmly in the mix for automatic promotion yet I am reading a lot of doom and gloom, talk of the play-offs being the aim and panic about QPR/Boro. I want to see us fighting to the bitter end because 2nd place is up for grabs. I hope to see more from the Club over the coming week or so to bolster the ranks. 14
Butty Posted January 22, 2022 Posted January 22, 2022 Our squad depth compared to the rest of the top six is dire. Our fully fit 11 is capable as we’ve seen but we really do need to add a couple more to strengthen the squad. 3
JeffRover Posted January 22, 2022 Posted January 22, 2022 I don't post on here very often so don't shoot the messenger. Current state of play is as follows: We've had a small cash bid go in for a Burnley midfielder. Possibly Dale Stephens. Tony wants to stiffen the midfield after the Hull game. However, Pasha is insisting that Rothwell could go the other way to fund the deal as he sees it as the ideal chance to get his wages off the books before the summer. Hedges could also arrive late on next week if we can make the money work. 1

AllRoverAsia Posted January 22, 2022 Posted January 22, 2022 I seriously doubt Rothwells wages are a major burden on club finances. The chance to get some sort of fee a more likely driver. Mental attitude to be expected from a twat. 4
JHRover Posted January 22, 2022 Posted January 22, 2022 Pasha the bloke who appointed Owen Coyle? Says all we need to know about his competence and understanding of the job. Not to be trusted. 1

Theaxe15 Posted January 22, 2022 Posted January 22, 2022 Can’t imagine Mowbray would go for this. Sure he’d rather keep Rothwell till the end of the season with the vague hope of him signing a new deal
Tyrone Shoelaces Posted January 22, 2022 Posted January 22, 2022 It would be a foolish move to basically exchange Rothwell for Stephens. 1

Why would TM entertain a 32 year old who has only made one first team appearance this season and that was as sub. On a similar matter Tim Sherwood on Sky today joked about Burnley could do with someone like Diaz but said there's no way Rovers would allow a transfer to help Burnley out. By the way, there is no talk of a Diaz transfer here. Just an ex Rover who knows the feeling around this area of football.

Theaxe15 Posted January 22, 2022 Posted January 22, 2022 Actually think Stephens would be an okay signing. Bit of experience in a young side. Never in exchange or at the expense of Rothwell though 1
